Well... it kind of missed its 2012 deadline, I think. >_> Unless they secretly have it filmed and ready to go. >_>

Big reveal teaser trailer at Comic Con today, although its not online or anything.

They did release the teaser poster at least:

Hopefully the trailer will be online soon. \:D/

There is a pretty good team behind the film, and while they plan to go a more gritty, realistic route as opposed to the silly Godzilla films I prefer, I'm confident they will do a good job with what they are trying to do. \:D/

Well over almost 60 years of films you can get some that are serious, some that are comedies, some that are action/adventures, and everything in between! Something for everyone! \:D/

Hmm....okay, I'm interested. Uh, is there a comedy/action adventure Godzilla you could recommend to me? And also a awesome serious one?

So I'm finally responding to this, and not even a year later! \:D/

Godzilla VS Monster Zero (AKA Invasion of Astro Monster) is streaming for free on Netflix instant and is a pretty fun/funny film.

I'm not aware of it streaming for free anywhere but a lot of people think "Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: All Out Monster Attack!" is a super serious one. I'm not a huge fan of it but a lot of people like it. The original film is pretty serious and is also on the Netflix Instant (Godzilla, King of the Monsters). It's basically an allegory of the atomic bombs that ended World War II. >_>

Godzilla: Final Wars is free on Crackle, and while some hate it, I think its so stupidly over the top that its entertaining. \:D/ It's basically X-men VS a dozen monsters.

Anyway, I edited this into the first post, but I'll put it here since not everyone will go back and look:

Well, things took longer to get rolling than expected, but filming began the other day, and the film is set for a 2014 release date, which will coincide with the 60th anniversary of the original film! \:D/

I'm so curious to see what Binoche, Strathairn and Cranston are doing in a Godzilla movie. Maybe Cranston cooks meth to soothe the savage beast?
