While the show sounds pretty good, this movie, according to PluggedIn, sounds pretty vulgar.

I am a huge fan of the original TV show, so I am greatly disappointed

by the amount of language and innuendo that they threw in.
Because of this questionable content, I have no plans of seeing the movie.

I saw it on Saturday with my dad and it was ....awkward... to say the least.
They advertised it on the FAMILY channel so I figured it would be pretty clean....i guess not. I was disappointed at how much innuendo there was, especially because the movie's target audience is pretty young.

yeah I agree! That quote was really funny!
Another funny part is when they were trying to get around the high powered laser lights and 99 says do exacutly what i do to get over the laser. And after she finished Smart says "Do I have to do exacutly that?"

Get Smart is my favorite show of all time... so I'll probably end up seeing this eventually... but I'm disappointed in some of the changes I've heard they made. The old show had the occasional innuendo but it was never too bad. A friend of mine saw it and said while it isn't the GREATEST THING EVER it doesn't totally defile the old show, either... so I'm happy to at least hear that.

Yeah, I saw it last night. It was pretty good. I liked the dance off scene with the 'large lady'.... I was sad to learn that Beethoven wrote Ode to Joy when he was dying of.... well, you know..., so I guess I did learn something. It was pretty good. I didn't think it was that crude compared to... Zohan-(DON'T SEEEEE).

I was pleasantly suprised that the movie paid some homage to the old show, but it did contain more innuendo than the original series for those who are concerned about that aspect.
Personally, I found it to be one of the more enjoyable movies I have seen in a theatre in quite some time.

That's basically the same as my thoughts on the subject. I was annoyed at some of the innuendo - however, I expected a lot more - so I was actually somewhat impressed.
My favorite part was where they were in the sewer and he makes a specific comment about rats and sewege.

I was very skeptical as a longtime fan of the show, but I really liked it... there was plenty of nods to the old show to appease me.

I was amused by the montage of all the old cars from the show (and the original Ziegfried driving the Opal).

But not enough Bill Murray cameos!

Alot of people were laughing out loud during the movie when I saw it....I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
It's probably because I find the same kind of Steve Carrell humor in The Office.....but he's like 10 times funnier in that show.

I love Steve Carell, and I loved him in this movie. Yes, there is more innuendo, but NO this is NOT a kid's show, it's rated PG-13! And the innuendo that was there was really not...I'm not really sure how to say it...it wasn't so completely obvious. It wasn't disgusting, and, with the exception of a few parts, it wasn't totally in-your-face like some other movies. I totally loved it.
Max: "Have you kissed other men who have then fallen to their deaths?"
Max: "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
Chief: "Are you thinking 'Holy xxxx, holy xxxx, a swordfish almost just went through my head!'? If so, then yes."

I've seen parts of the old show on youtube. It is hilarious. If you want an animated version of it, watch Inspector Gadget. I used to watch Inspector Gadget quite often. And El Chapulin Colorado is sort of like a Spanish Version of it, though it is a totally different show by different people.

I have the whole first season of the old Get Smart on my computer, but I have yet to watch any. I'm pretty sure I saw most of one episode years ago, but that's it.

I downloaded the entire original series... then the next day saw they were being re-released on DVD and will actually be reasonably prices...

So heh, all that downloading for nothing.
