I heard the first episode through the podcast, as many others did as well, and it made me really look forward to the rest of the album!

Yes it does, (but if it does I have never heard it), but this is what on the ToO is called spam, a post that doesn't contribute anything to the conversation.Parker Family wrote:Does a Duck's quack echo?
As it was appropriate for Connie going to college it was also my favourite line within the episode. (I do believe I will be using this line in the future). Also due to spoilers from members of this board inconsiderate enough not to label things with spoilers the ending of the episode with who was in the hospital was spoiled and of no surprise.Eugene Meltsner wrote:Loudly exclaimed euphemisms escape me!
But that post did contribute to the conversation. Now we won't have anyone else asking that question because of the episode.Yes it does, (but if it does I have never heard it), but this is what on the ToO is called spam, a post that doesn't contribute anything to the conversation.
Oh wow... And you were spamming by talking about how it was spam since what you're saying has absolutely nothing to do with the topic. SO PUT A HELMET ON!31899 wrote:Yes it does, (but if it does I have never heard it), but this is what on the ToO is called spam, a post that doesn't contribute anything to the conversation.Parker Family wrote:Does a Duck's quack echo?

I think you mean 10 years. Monty would've aged 10 years in 20 real years. Meaning the ration would be 2:1, and Whit would be 152 and Connie would be 64. I think the only solution is that since Monty is in DeMoines and NOT Odyssey, he's not subject to the same time-space continuum that everyone in the town, like Whit and Connie, are.Moontide wrote:From this episode I think we can figure out Whit's age. In Ice Fishing (aired January 20, 1990) Monty sounds 10ish (I'm guessing), Now in Marth 12, 2011, Monty is 20ish. That means that in 21 years, about 20 years have passed in Odyssey.Which means that there is about a 1:1 ratio of earth years to Odyssey years. Whit had most likely joined the navy by 1944 in WWII. The youngest he could have been at the time was 18. (I think he might have had to been older though.) It is now 2011, which means 67 odyssey years have past, and Whit is at least 85 years old. (67+18)
Bennett brought up the idea that since these parts are all so connected, individual polls don't really make as much sense as they usually do, so I didn't bother to add a poll. If somebody else creates a discussion thread next week and wants to add a poll, that's fine, but it does seem like the kind of thing where the big picture is the focus, not the individual pieces.DanP740 wrote:Where's the poll?
It was a pretty good episode, but it kind of eliminates a little of the suspense/surprise of having a conspiracy story arc because we've known about it for so long (as opposed to Novacom). 4 out of 5, a good start.
I think you are wrong about Whit's age (but right about Monty's aging), because if Monty aged 10 years in 20 real years would mean that a 1:2 ratio of Odyssey years to real years. (I. E. for every year in Odyssey, two real years pass.) That would mean that Whit is 51.5 ((67/2)+18) years not 152.I think you mean 10 years. Monty would've aged 10 years in 20 real years. Yeah, sorry about that. I realized afterwards what I'd done, doubling instead of halving....Moontide wrote:I think you are wrong about Whit's age (but right about Monty's aging), because if Monty aged 10 years in 20 real years would mean that a 1:2 ratio of Odyssey years to real years. Of course he didn't replace anything with another word; that's why he said "escape me". It makes sense to me.Trixie Belden wrote:*pops in*
Just wanted to say that Eugene's line "Loudly exclaimed euphamisms escape me!" is actually quite inaccurate. A euphamism is a word used to replace a word that would not be politically correct or tactful in a certain situation. For instance, saying "passing away" instead of "dying". So, Eugene didn't really replace anything with another word.
