Connie and Wooten?

Whit's wiping down the counter, Connie's mopping the floor, and the kids are sipping on their milkshakes. If you want to talk about Adventures in Odyssey the radio drama, this is the spot to do just that!

Maybe if he was younger...What am I saying?! Connie has to stay single now. I think after the whole thing with Mitch...they can't introduce another love interest for her unless she's actually getting married. There's only so much she (and fans) can take.

So very true. Connie even dating is an extremely scary and very sickening concept. I can't even come up with a word on the marriage idea. The barfing smilie would come in very handy right here.

I don't think the problem is Connie dating in and of itself, the problem comes in how she acts when she's dating.

That's what I meant. I would not have a problem with Connie dating if (and only if) she would act her age and learn to take things as they come, not be suspicious of everything or try to be someone she is not. From what we have heard in the Novacom Saga she is completely unable to do any of these things and that is why she should just stay the way she is.

She might be ready to date again since the Mitch episode; maybe she's matured since then and can pull it off without making us all want to vomit.

Well, Connie and Wooton is my exception to the rule mentioned in my above post.

Oh come on.... we all know Mitch was the right guy for Connie, and if she cant marry him than she shouldnt get married at all!! Wooton would need someone more like him anyway.

The characters just wouldn't be the same with spouses... It can't happen.

This is the part where Laurie, in a fit of rage, busts in with her brigade of barfing smilies. ;)

Honestly, Mitch wasn't, in my opinion, the right guy for Connie. I mean, come on...we had to put up with vomit-inducing, gooey, pathetic attempts at writing romance--any guy who makes you act like someone that you're not and that anybody with half a brain knows you're not is likely not the right guy for you. It was like the Twilight of Odyssey. In my opinion, quite a few Odyssey fans--myself included--could do without Mitch ever returning to the show again after the end of an easily forgettable and annoyingly stupid storyline.

I would burst in with barfing smilies if this forum provided them. Sadly, this forum does not and for this sickeningly disgusting topic they need to. I will only say that I agree 100% with TigerintheShadows.

I think it would be weird to see Connie go through the motions of finding a "spouse" after she invested so much of herself into Mitch. As of now, if Connie were ever to get married, I think it should be Mitch...but Odyssey has a weird way of doing things: with every step forward, they take two steps back. Though we've seen Eugene married, Connie engaged, Whit's End Connelsville opened, Nick and Aubrey showed up...still things have managed to look the same as when the show started.

It would be awkward to have be romantically involved with someone else after Mitch, and the "I love you's"...whether it is Wooton, or potentially, Richard Maxwell...(they may open those doors since there are hints that he is coming back).

Well, there's your problem--she shouldn't have invested so much of herself into Mitch. Oh, sure, we can rant all day long about how sickening and annoying she acted, but really it's because she put so much of herself into him that's the issue.

yeah uhm when you are in a relationship with someone and it is serious and you think you are getting married, you had better invest in them or you will have no idea what you are getting in for. Connie's problem was that she didn't invest enough in Mitch in a healthy way. She didn't know the basic things she needed to about him in order for it to go long term - or didn't accept them. She knew he loved the FBI, but she blew it off thinking it was a phase. She needed to see that right away, but as someone who has ignored things because of love in past relationships, I can tell you just how easy it is to do so.
A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ that a man would have to seek Him to find her.

I never said not to invest yourself--if it's something you care about and it's important to you, then you should invest yourself. The problem, as you have stated, comes when it's not done in a healthy way. That was the problem with Connie.
