I heard Shane Claiborne, the author of today's quote, speak live in college. I didn't know he was that well-known.

Side Note: I can't remember whether or not he was the one who sang the Sermon of the Mount. That was awesome.

Wow, that's so cool! I would love to hear him speak. I don't think he's that well known. I just happen to have stumbled upon him a while back and really like him.

Thing of the day = 3 out of 10 people don't respond to surveys.
I love today's thing of the day...so how'd you find that out? Through surveys? \:D/

A beautiful verse!
Psalm 61:3-4 – “For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.”

I've heard him speak at my college too, during our Social Justice Week.

"There is no improving the future without disturbing the present." - Catherine Booth
For some reason I think of President Obama's slogan of change but I do like that quote. Not that I really like President Obama's changes and I'm not sure if it will improve the future but it's sure disturbing the present.

Just think back about 100 years to the early 1900s. Everyone dissed the inventors because "everythin there was to be invented already was"! Uh, wrong there, my long-dead friends. ;) But that's what that quote made me think of...

That's what I thought. Where would you even buy a lickable stamp?
I just bought one yesterday on O'Connell street in Dublin, Ireland. \:D/

Another great verse!
You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word. - Psalm 119:114

Thanks for putting verses on the homepage, King Regis!

Edit:

Wow, that is just amazing! :D

She left many of us behind. She left us heartbroken. And though we cry now there'll come a time when we'll laugh. Because we'll see her again someday. We'll be with her in heaven. And when we go to heaven she'll be there to greet us. She'll be there to say "Welcome home." -From a poem that SnC wrote about her grandmother

It's not pretty....it's inspirational! The thing of the day is nothing more than nothingness. :x

I love today's verse.
