Malachi's Message Idea

Whit's wiping down the counter, Connie's mopping the floor, and the kids are sipping on their milkshakes. If you want to talk about Adventures in Odyssey the radio drama, this is the spot to do just that!

Malachi's Message Idea

Post by Bren »

I was listening to Malachi's Message earlier and the thought came to me, why couldn't Eugene run J&Js?

Eugene would cause all the customers never to come back, and his name starts with an 'E'

Jack and Joanne don't exist anymore. Remember? ;)

(Hopefully we'll see them again)

Because geeks don't care about things that are old, they care about things that are new.

I don't know. Plot device, perhaps? Plus, as 31899 said, he would scare all the little old ladies and gentlemen away. :( And that's not good. Also, he would be way way over Jack and Joanne's heads and try to "update" the shop like he did in "Connie". Remember the first part of Wrapped Around your Finger?

He would BURN all the old comic books just to be a jerk because they aren't educational enough. :(

Except Jack was in the Passages episodes... And he'll be in future Passages episodes. So he does exist...

But they haven't said that they are for sure going to make any more Passages episodes. If I remember right, Paul McCusker said on the Official Podcast (or the Unofficial maybe, I don't remember) that they might, but they might not. So Jack may not be around anymore. I certainly hope not though.

She left many of us behind. She left us heartbroken. And though we cry now there'll come a time when we'll laugh. Because we'll see her again someday. We'll be with her in heaven. And when we go to heaven she'll be there to greet us. She'll be there to say "Welcome home." -From a poem that SnC wrote about her grandmother

Eugene is not a people person so I don't think he could run it. Maybe Jason and Whit could run it. J&J. Whit was an archeologist and Jason could help out just to keep the J&J.

I have to contest this one. There are lots of geeks who are utterly devoted to "old" things.

Granted, I don't think that Eugene is one of them. Even if he could get into it, though, the job just wouldn't be a good fit for him.

I think Eugene could have run J&J's, but why would he? I'm sure he couldn't afford to buy the shop, and if I were him I'd probably rather wait until I could find a more fitting job.

Yep. Using my signature for a shameless plug. But trust me. If I can be so arrogant, I think it'll be worth your time.

True, Eugene's father was an archeologist and Eugene has stated he knows a little about it but I don't see Eugene running an antique store.

Based on what we know about Eugene, I don't think he'd WANT to run an antique store.
Um, I guess this is where I'm supposed to say something funny or interesting.
