You should be able to leave a faction still. Go to your User Control Panel and click on the Usergroups tab. It will then list all the factions you're a member of. On the right side there will be a little dot-select-thingy. Take a look and you'll know what I mean. You can then select the one you want to leave, go to the bottom of the page, and on the right-hand side there will be a drop-down menu and choose "resign selected." Congratulations! You have now left a faction.

For example, Inventor's Corner is part of Subscription Based Content and is listed as SBC: Inventor's Corner. You can always PM a mod or admin who is on at the time to explain that it was an accident and they can remove the report.
