I never watched the TV show, but I always loved the books, and apparently there's a musical version now, which I think is really cool! :D I would love to see that one day.

...Maybe our very own Laura Ingalls could star in the musical!

I love the books so much that I pretty much hate the TV series, 'cause they're NOTHING like the books. :(

I don't even associate the books with the TV series. In my mind they are two distinct things, but I know when I first watched the show I felt the same way as you InHisArms.

Our close old friends own the whole series. That's a pretty big collection!

LHOTP is a great old show. I've seen a lot of miscellaneous episodes and always enjoy them. :D

I have the whole series except this one collectors thing where they're really old because my parents don't want to buy it.

My Mom owns the whole series. But it is not something I watch...

We have the whole series on DVD, too. It was a good show, but I don't watch it much anymore. I probably should try re-watching the whole series again. \:D/ That last episode was just sad though...:noway:
I can understand if they didn't want any spin offs or reboots, but blowing up the whole town set and having the entirety of the last episode revolve around that? No. :noway: There were probably plenty of other good ways to end Little House that didn't involve destroying Walnut Grove. ;) At least they left the church/schoolhouse standing (albeit damaged).

I've seen a few shows but couldn't really get into them. Nothing against Michael Landon, he doesn't look anything like I envisioned "Pa."

I read the books a loooong time ago, and now my younger sister is reading them.

(I haven't seen any of the shows.)

Michael Landon would agree with you. The actor cast in the role of Charles Ingalls never showed up, so the director (or was it producer?) stepped in and became the role for the entire show.

 I didn't know that was how he was cast! I rather liked him as Pa, but of course, I've never read the books. ;)

I haven't either. I found them somewhat boring. :anxious:

I liked the first season or two. But the later seasons got so far away from the books, they were just weird.

Meh, I read the first book, but never got around to reading the rest. I found them dull, to be honest <_<.

I read the books a long time ago. At the time I read them, I enjoyed them. Not so sure if they would interest me much now.

I've only seen a couple of the shows. Never really was that interested though.
