I'm not a huge fan of the new album cover. Truthfully, I never like how any of the new pictures depict Eugene. My favorite is the Eugene from the old VHS videos. It's how I've always imagined him...

Eugene looks like he has, I don't know, emo hair or something on the Encore Collection cover, and Connie's ponytail is chopped off around the middle/ends of her hair. Whit's head, meanwhile, looks freakishly huge.
That cover was no shock, really, compared to this one...I was like, "OH MY GRACIOUS ALIVE!" (I didn't really shout, but, well, you get the idea.)
Connie appears to have gotten bangs and re-dyed her hair raspberry chestnut (maybe Mitch is making a comeback?). Eugene (ZOMGASP!) has eyes. And considering that this album is coming after the Best Small Town competition, the new Imagination Station and a, like, what, two-year, one-and-a-half year hiatus, you'd think that there would be something more exciting looking on the cover than a buzz cut...I see those all the time, and I'm willing to bet it's nothing new to anyone else on the planet over the age of seven either.

"Death's got an Invisibility Cloak?" "So he can sneak up on people. Sometimes he gets bored of running at them, flapping his arms and shrieking..."
"And now the spinning. Thank you for nothing, you useless reptile."
"It unscrews the other way."

It never ceases to amaze me how much people seem to ignore the double-entendre with the album title. Connie is literally taking it from the top, while the Odyssey team is, in a way, going back to the beginning - doing shows in the style of earlier episodes (e.g. slice of life dramas).TigerintheShadows wrote:And considering that this album is coming after the Best Small Town competition, the new Imagination Station and a, like, what, two-year, one-and-a-half year hiatus, you'd think that there would be something more exciting looking on the cover than a buzz cut...
Yes, the most exciting thing that's happening in Album 51 will be Eugene's haircut.

It could also have another reason from another episode in the album. But at any rate, I would say that this cover is quite intriguing. I've never seen myself portayed in quite this mannor. It's interesting, to say the least.
How do we know the style of the upcoming episodes? Did I miss something?Trent DeWhite wrote:It never ceases to amaze me how much people seem to ignore the double-entendre with the album title. Oh. I don't have the solid time to listen to that.
Argh at too much work to do!

Technically it's from the top right corner, but nonetheless, I never thought about that, Trent...I guess I don't apply my brain to the album covers a lot...
I am intrigued, though, as to how Eugene lets Connie give him a haircut. That's like Ed Washington and the Miraculous Dent in Marvin's Head.
And apparently, I am not authorized to access the interview with Nathan Hoobler.

I'm sorry, it's just so funny whenever you say something like that.

Gak! Eugene looks too odd. His head is shaped rather weird, and the thick eyelashes also give him a strange look. Maybe I'm too picky.

Uh, sorry to suddenly throw myself in here and ask stupid questions, but did it just say that Album 51 is the final album!? As in, Odyssey-no-more!? (If so...Eugene better not be shaving his head. That's just wrong on so many levels.)
One could do worse than be a swinger of birches
No it is not the final album. If you go back and read the first page of the topic you will see immediately what is being discussed. FINAL in this case means the cover art for album 51. Odyssey is not ending.

Yes, this is the end. After Album 51, there will be no more episodes. EVER.

He actually doesn't look very old to me. Perhaps age 50, and AIO writers can work well into their 90s, so we're set for life.Amethystic wrote:Shhh! If don't talk about it maybe he'll stop aging and write AIO forever.Ben Linus wrote:Wow, is that Paul McCusker on Trent's siggie? He's old. Er.

Or at least the next 40 years! Plus, if he dies we can put his brain in a jar and hook it up to a word processor.American Eagle wrote:He actually doesn't look very old to me.
