I had an idea though if we use the feauture that wikipedia uses that prevents ips to create pages, as that is most of the vandalism.

If it's more intelligent vandalism, then it's most likely the joker type. Which is then probably someone just being mean. That's not fun either, but it is perhaps slightly more preventable as it's one person rather than the army of spam bots out there.
