A bird came to me.

I wish that I was Snow White, so that all birds would come to me when I called them.

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

A bird came to me.

I caught a female indian ringneck parrot on my roof last week. Oh, sweet bliss! \:D/

It looks almost identical to this picture:

Can y'all help me name it? My family is having a hard time deciding on a name. :-k

It's a girl...males have a black ring coloring around their necks. Zach would be cute if it was a boy. :D

Of course not, you silly boy. :slapfish: Then all the birds would be scared of me and would never flock to my house!

;)

That would be really cute. :-k But, if I named it after a ToOer, then I'd have to name it after every ToOer!

Bob! \:D/

Oh, it's a girl? :-k

Bobette! \:D/
So you lost your trust,
And you never should have.
No, you never should have.
But don't break your back
If you ever see this,
But don't answer that.
In a bullet proof vest
With the windows all closed,
I'll be doing my best
I'll see you soon.

I think that might be the perfect name for all the lost pet bluejays that I'll catch next time.
Take 5 wrote:Rainbeaux. I taught a girl with that name. \:D/

Well, our ringneck is only 2/7ths of the Rainbeaux...so that name is somewhat inaccurate (though beautiful, and I hope that your Rainbeaux graduated from swimming lessons successfully). :D

Mrs. Neitchew would be very cute, except it makes me think of an old lady, and this bird is fairly young...the band on her leg said that she was born in '97. :D

What a very lovely and non-normal name. :) Í'll have to tell that one to my family for consideration.

I'm out of names.
I think of a boy when I hear the name Zippy. :-k

I have a cousin named Lili...I don't know what she would think if I named a bird after her. \:D/

One of my favorite movies. :inlove: But, yah, a little bit too sophisticated.

Hmmm...she's too exciting and loud for a Gretchen. That name makes me think of all the cute little girls at my church named "Agnes"," "Hesper," and I think we do have a Gretchen too. :D

Good suggestions, DAM.

It's a girl...but it might be scarred for life if I named it "Bobette." ;)
Nerds wrote:Breezy! The perfect name for a bird! \:D/
That is super cute! :inlove: Man...I gotta go and convince my parents to let me take your guys' suggestions. They want to name it "Tikka"...because it's an Indian Ringneck, and "Chicken Tikka" is an Indian dish. I'm not too terribly excited about that name, but hey, they're open to new suggestions, and so that's why I'm asking you guys.

Hmm... yeah, picturing that cute birdie turned into tikka masala is kinda creepy. But I like the idea of using an Indian derived name. Some names from some googled indian name site listed as having the meaning "bird" are:
Kanjri
Maina
Manali
Talika
Tiya

I think I like the last two, and then no one will want to eat her.

Wow, I'll have to consult you next time I never need to name any animals, Darcie. *brings names before family panel*

The name "Tiya" is really cute...and it makes me laugh, because we used to babysit some little special-needs boys who had a next-door neighbor with a little yappy dog named Tiya. The boys would always run by the fence shouting "Tiya! It's Tiya! Is he coming over?". :D

The names Biddy, Lace, or Rainbow might be a nice name.

Hey, Nerds,
I was wondering where you got the idea for the name Jaycee.
I know someone with that name,in fact it's spelled the same way.
