Musicals for Younger Kids

Post by jasonjannajerryjohn »

I am directing a musical by Pam Andrews called Hotel Bethlehem. Our rehersals start on Thursday, and I have ten weeks to reherse. Are there any people out there that are good with kids or musicals that can give me any tips?

Never did musicals, but taught dance. I suggest patience and a good sense of humor. :D Oh, and don't expect perfection, but strive for it anyway.

What Darcie said, with the addition of "plenty of praise".
Kids also have a usually slightly twisted, hyper sense of fairness.

Everyone should have a happy dance.

I don't do well with kids but be patient. You have to be understanding and have a lot of kindness and patients.
