The best Mario game EVER?!
So I am wondering what the opinion is on this, with Super Mario Galazy on the horizon... I am making a poll, but there are like a zillion Mario games, so I'm not even trying to have all of them on there, mainly the moreso popular ones.
And I am exclusing Smash Bros. series... I like it a lot, and since Mario is in it, I guess it's a Mario game, but its not really Mario centric, so POO POO to that! And also since there are 8 billion sports games... tennis, soccer, racing, baseball, basketball, and all the party games... I am leaving them out because I want to mainly focus on the platformers here.
Anyway, my vote goes to SUPER MARIO BROS. 3!!!!!!!!
I think the way each world had unique attributes, and the large number of powerups and cool suits really made the game the most awesome.

LOL at the game most people like the least of the main canon games getting the most votes on the ToO...

I enjoy it quite a bit myself, but whenever I've seen this same question somewhere else, it's always a race between Mario 3 and Mario World... I'd take 2 over World any day, its just amusing how the ToO bucks trends.

No it was the Super Nintendo launch game that introduced Yoshi... although its one of the GBA Mario games that they threw out instead of making a new one for the GBA.
Super Mario Land and Land 2 were the Game Boy ones... the first one had you rescuing Daisy and the second one introduced Wario...

I don't know if this was one of the choices, but Luigi's Mansion is my favorite game for the Gamecube. I bought it on E-bay for about 12 dollars, and it was awsome! I still say it is the best even after beating it about 15 times.
Peri: Do you mean the TARDIS is malfunctioning again?

Tis' also part of the Mario cannon, but not exactly the best game in the world.ek wrote:So we could say...Princess Peach for the DS should be included?jasonjannajerryjohn wrote:Tis' part of the Mario cannon! The Top Crusader wrote:Yeah, but that is a Luigi game.

I had to vote for the New Super Mario Bros for the DS. Mario 3 was outstanding, and fundamentally a better game. But NSMB took most of the good things about 3 and added some of the features from Super Mario World, Mario 64 and Paper Mario.
Imagine Mario 3 with better graphics, wall jumping and ground pounding...
The only drawbacks were that there weren't as many items (only 4 instead of.... well a lot more than 4 in Mario 3), and the levels weren't quite as good.
Still, it was really hard not to vote for Mario Teaches Typing

Heh, I need to get a DS, I keep hearing wonderous things about NSMB... I wish they had put a new came on the GBA instead of just porting classic ones... not that it wasn't cool to have slightly upgraded classic Mario games, but I think the GBA could basically handle a game the style of NSMB, just wouldn't have the 3Dish look, but since its a sidescroller it wouldn't really matter, anyway...STRYPER wrote:I had to vote for the New Super Mario Bros for the DS.
