Children's Books Suggestions

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

I used to read them. I liked them. I just don't remember if there was anything questionable in them. >.<

I always liked "Pronounce It Dead" and "Spell it M-U-R-D-E-R" by Ivy Ruckman \:D/.....and no, they're not as weird or scary as they sound.

I want to put a second on the "Series of Unfortunate Events" books.

"The Seven Sleepers" books by Gilbert Morris.

That's all I can think of right now. I always liked to go to the library and just pick any book at all.
“Among the attributes of God, although they are all equal, mercy shines with even more brilliancy than justice.” —Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra

By the way, Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, was a racist.

(GASP!) You've never read "The End"! I can't believe it! That's just like the others, but without all of the other characters. Btw, have you read "The Beatrice Letters" or "Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography"?

I read 'm all. The End is the best-he just wraps it all up in the most terrific and strangely satisfying way. I don't think they're melancholy. And about the Babysitter books-I read them, I liked them, I don't really remember anything questionable. (Although I didn't read the Boy-Crazy one). I think they were alright, but actually a nine year-old might like the Babysitter's LIttle Sister books better. I read 'm both and they're verry good.

Gordon Korman is a favorite, although I wouldn't really recommend a couple of his. The On the Run and Kidnapped and the Bruno and Boots books are terrific though. And the Everest, and Dive, and Island. Yeah. They're great. For anybody that likes to laugh. Oh and no More Dead Dogs. I'm rambling...

Yes, the ending is quite strange, but I did expect a strange ending from Lemony Snicket.

Also, The Hobbit and Roverandom by J.R.R. Tolkien are great. They're easier to read than most of the rest of his works; the latter was written especially for children.

Robert Elmer books...several different series to choose from. The Trailblazer series. Most of the BJUPress Light Line books. Little House series. Etc. Etc. \:D/

Do you have access to the "Bedtime Stories" by Uncle Arthur? They have great lessons and faith-building stories for children.
Success is to stand in the presence of God, unashamed.
