The WB

Post by Jennifer Doyle »

Do you like any shows from The WB? A lot of people think they are all soap operas! Most of them certainly don't show very proper values in relationships. Like 7th Heaven, it seems like every kid in that family HAS to date before they're 12 years old. And it also seems like, for Christians, the kids are really promiscious. (sp?)

I really like Gilmore Girls, I think it has awesome writing. The woman who plays Lorili can just rattle off her lines and it's hilarious.

I have seen maybe 10 minutes of 7th Heaven and I just could not get into it. It seemed to me that every single person in that family had one problem or another and I very quickly lost interest. I have never watched any of the other shows. If what I saw of 7th Heaven is any indication I'm not missing much.

I haven't watched anything on the WB. Maybe a long time ago. I kind of know that good channels that have shows I watch and flip to those.

The only show I watch on that channel currently is "Smallville." Its interesting to see how Clark (the future Superman) evolves as a character, and how Lex (Superman's future archenemy) descends from a good person to a villian.

Ya, Smallville is one of the shows I watch on that station. It has such cool characters...which girl do you want Clark with? I know he'll end up with Lois, but Smallville has me conditioned to want Lana and Clark together! :boohoo:

I really can't stand Lana as a character. I think she's kind of self-centered, and she's always going on about how Clark's not being honest with her. I really like Clark and Lois together, but since I know they can't date yet, I think Clark and Chloe would be a good couple. Chloe's very sweet and supportive of Clark.

Our family used to watch 7th Heaven too...but they certainly don't act much like a Christian family should...

Did anyone see Gilmore Girls?!

Please don't double post. Thanks -Me

Haha, yeah, I used to watch 7th Heaven. Now whenever I see it, I can't believe I ever was into it. Yes, bad acting, I agree, and no good plots, in my opinion and no offense intended, and really weird morals for a preacher's family, like telling Lucy to go choose whichever religion she wants. Really weird. I just can't see how if you're a Christian, and a pastor, you could tell your kid to do that.

Anyhow, my favorite has to be Smallville. I used to watch it a lot but have lost interest, not to mention I'm in England now and have no tv. But it's turning really weird now too.

Lastly, I watched the first two seasons of Everwood. I have to say they surprised me on the show about abortion. Dr. Brown, though not religious, wouldn't do it because he couldn't think of destroying the possibility of a person, and Amy's dad did, though the last scene shows him in a church asking God for forgiveness. That was powerful, and I am personally glad they showed that side for once and in such an eloquent manner.

I think Chloe and Clark's characters work better together, but the writer's hands are tied due to the Superman continuity.
I watch Smallville but I honestly can't recommend the show due to the sexual immorality that's it seems is being increasingly protrayed in the show.

I went with the first option.

The only one I've seen that's even slightly close to family-friendly is 7th Heaven, but that's stretching it pretty far. As I've said a few times on this board (or the TH), my family still watches it because it's the only show we all agree on and like and it's sort of a family tradition (though a lame one, I admit).

I like Gilmore Girls, but sometimes it gets a little dirty, so I wasn't allowed to watch it when I was little, and only catch a few episodes here and there now.

I actually tried to get into many of those shows; but with no luck.

I don't think "One Tree Hill" is a very moral show; not sure however.

Smallville looked alright, but somethign about it doesn't really interest me.

Yeah, I'm realising that I stayed away from a lotta good shows these days. I'm kinda having trouble finding one to get into. Nothing good seems to be on. However, "Lost" seems promising from what I saw...Too bad I'm just so busy these days.

I love Gilmore Girls. I tune in at 5 every night on ABC family, and then on The WB again on Tuesdays.

I dislike 7th Heaven a lot. It shows such a bad example of Christians and Christianity. It seems like they're promoting things that our Faith is against. =/ Think of what all of those non-Christians out there are thinking... "If this is what Christians are like, why would I want to become one?"
Obviously, the writers of that show didn't do much research before writing the show.

i haven't watched many of the other shows... So I don't really have much to say about them.

I watch 7th Heaven every new show. I started watching, and am one of many who never stopped, no matter how bad it gets. And it is ending in May, just a few more episodes. I disagree with a lot of stuff. It is like a soap opera now. Too much bad stuff, too many characters. But I do watch it, and will watch til the finale.
