What books are you reading?

In the same vein as movie/music threads...

"Books? You want books?! Ha! We've got books on hairy otters, on onions and on mars! All the fungus you could care for, plus, three triple zillion stars. We've got books on flossing teeth, plus three books on tossing sheep. If we spent our lives just counting books, we'd never get to sleep!" -Leopold the Librarian ("The Great Wishy Woz")

I read it once, I don't think I've read it again. Too sad. :(
That's what I thought too. :( Have either of you read the sequel-ish book after that? I actually read that one before I knew that it takes place afterwards. It's called "A Light in My Window," and I think it's a bit more upbeat, and moves the primary characters to more secondary characters, though they're still quite involved.

I've read it, too. And it's true that Not My Will is sad, but at least it turns out happy!

Men and Women: Equal Yet Different - A Brief study of Biblical Passages on Gender.

THis book is amazing! I am reading it for my women's ministry class. It explains a woman's place in the church and in the family in a Biblical way. I highly reccomend it.
A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ that a man would have to seek Him to find her.

Inside-Out Worship by Matt Redman--My current "entertainment" reading (though it's really just a bunch of teaching and theology).
The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy--Not really "reading" at the moment... I checked it out from the library in the hopes of reading it, but I'm too addicted to the computer and too lazy to do anything productive such as read.
Celebration of Discipline by Richard J. Foster--Not actually reading it, but we're studying it at Bible study and I pick it up occassionally.
William Penn: Liberty and Justice for All by Janet & Geoff Benge--I have to write a biography for school.
1984 by George Orwell--Really, I've only read the first sentence, but I'm supposed to be reading it for school.

humm I read so much at once, but half of them have to be returned bfore I actually finish them... so here is what I can recall from the long list... from the "stack of stuff" if you can call it that... (I currently have about 18 books checked out....I will probubly end up reading five... :anxious: )

The Onion Girl by Charles De Lint (just started today) it is very intriging so far...

Till We Have Faces by CS Lewis (about half way into it) it is very good! I read the first three chapters leaning against a bookshelf at a bookstore... It has been reallly good so far.

Bird By Bird by Anne Lamott (also half way into it, and almost done) It is about writing so I am learning from her...

The Dark Tower by CSLewis (started it but have not gotten far) it is also intriguing....I doubt i will finish it though.

I Kissed Daiting Goodbye by Josh Harris (haven't started it yet but will) A friend wants me to read it and have discussions....what am I to argue?

And that is about it....I will posibly start more soon.

Ooo, I read some of those many years ago! \:D/

I'm about to start "SisterChicks Down Under!" by Robin Jones Gunn - it should be fun! :D My mom already read it, so I have it on good authority that I'll like it. ;)
