LOL that was great!!!
I just finished reading Uncle Tom's Cabin. I highly recommend that book.
I just finished a book called How to Be Pope ( I think).
It is a light-hearted look at all the miscellany of being pope.

Wow, Lord of the Flies really freaked me out when I read it (I was about 9-10) and I bet it would still freak me out if I read it again... That wasn't an exactly pleasant book.
The Artemis Fowl series are really cool.

Timothy Zahn is a very talented Sci-Fi writer who can be easily enjoyed, even by non-sci-fi fans like me. His books tend to have very little gore in them, his characters are complex and believable, and most importantly the values his main good characters exhibit tend to be very Christian in nature, whether he intended for them to be that way or not.
Some examples are: treating enemies fairly, only using force when necessary, Mara submitting to and honoring Luke, Luke loving Mara like his own flesh, the 'two becoming one' principle being illustrated emotionally and mentally between the Skywalkers, with the Force making their unity even stronger, and finally, submitting to authority, even when they're WAY out of line.

Hmmm, I really like those political cautionary types...like 1984 (George Orwell), A Brave New World (Aldus Huxley)...Lord of the Flies, etc...romances like Rebecca (forget who that's by ), Pride and Predjudice, The Importance of Being Earnest (Oscar Wilde, read it! Soo funny!) Erm, anything by CS Lewis, anything by GK Chesterton, anything by John Steinbeck (if you don't mind the swearing) and anything by HG Wells.
Murder For Her Majesty by Beth Hilgartner is a fun book. (but if you read it, be careful. there are some swear words in it.) It's about a girl whose father gets killed, and the girl (who sees the men kill her father) hears the men who killed her father say that the queen will be pleased. So she, thinking that the queen had ordered that her father be killed, runs away to find a friend of her father's in London. (?) She runs into some choir boys who take her to their house, the choir boys end up disguising her as a choir boy, she ends up getting kidnapped, the teachers of the choir boys (who think the girl is a boy) finds out who the girl is, and it all ends up happily. And that's all I'm going to say. I don't want to say how the story ends, becuse it might ruin it for those that want to read it.
(by the way, I hope that (^) was all understandable. It's after 11:00 p.m. I think it's almost time to go to bed!)

Prey by Michael Chricton was quite enjoyable. It was pretty long, and it had alot of his trademark junk about evolution, but I loved it and am now recommending it to anyone who doesn't get offended by dorks who support evolution. Good plot, good characters, good climax, and good ending.
In fact, every single Michael Crichton book I have raed so far is recommendable! But be warned... he likes to promote evolution.
