David O wrote:Say, what are your opinions on Uru? It didn't sound too great comparitively. The new gaming engine sounds too different for me. I will probably only buy it if the price becomes extravagantly low.
That's sounds like a good plan ;)

Basically the Myst series is awesome for two reasons:
1. Awesome grapics of breathtaking scenery
2. Extremely captivating storyplot invloving Atrus and his complicated family.

Uru is Myst without element #2
Oh sure it has some plot but nothing really good and most of what is there is confusing. What it does have is some really awesome worlds to explore. The only reason I would suggest getting Uru is so that you can look at some of these really jawdropping places. Just wait for the price to come down, get a walkthrough and take a sweet tour of the amazing places.

btw, the Myst Books (which I highly recommend) is Myst without element #1
Rand Miller wrote three novels between the releases of Myst and Riven and they are some of the best fiction I have read in a long time. Of course, there's no graphics but the storyline becomes a heck of a lot clearer and it's extremely interesting.

Yeah, I got Uru as a present, so that is the only one I have ever played. But I would like to get the other games too. But I really liked it, the graphics were great. \:D/ But I do not understand Myst: Revelation’s story line have any of you played it? :-s

It would probably be helpful for you to play the original Myst since the storyline of Revelation is very closely tied to it.

I thought it was one of the best storylines by any game ever but that's only because I understood it from playing previous games. If you just play the Original Myst you should be good to go...

(and in case you're looking, Myst Masterpiece and realMyst are pretty much the same thing as the original so get those instead if you want.)

Then you are in luck!!! Uru is by far the most boring and uninteresting Myst game ever!!!

Just go out and buy this little package and you'll REALLY love Myst :D
