Male equivilances of chick flicks

Post by Sarah »

I saw this on fox news a few weeks ago...

The "requirements" in order for them to be a male chick flick would be if they made you teary eyed/emotional.

They asked guys what movies they thought to be "male chick flicks" were, and a few of the movies that were listed were:

Rudy
Finding Neverland

And, er, I can't remember the rest.

Which is where you guys come in. (Not girls... shoo, shoo! I can hang here, but no one else, 'cause i made this topic.
=; *looking for the smiley that has it's arms crossed, and is shaking its head*) Post the movies that got you teary eyed, made you cry, or even emotional! :)

You know... it's funny, 'cause when my sister and I asked our brother what he thought was a chick flick he blurted out "terminator!" immediately, before we got out that it should make you emotional. ;)

It'd be a hard hearted man who didn't tear up at the end of Lord of the Rings Return of the King.

I actually just teared up recently (a few months ago) rewatching the Land Before Time (the first and only one): in the scene where his mother dies

I hardly ever cry at movies but sometimes, there have been occasions.

I cried the most seeing The Passion

ROTK is definitely one. I would think, however, that a guy "chick flick" would be something more along the lines of Sahara, which basically involves blowing up lots and lots of stuff.

I know it's happened, but can't remember which ones.

One of the best cartoon movies ever made (the first one). The seqeuls killed the series. Unbelieveably, they are still making those.

I didn't think I would cry (I mean, really, I've seen it a several times) but something about just seeing it again after not seeing it for a long time... I just felt something for "dear Littlefoot" when his mother died.

Ha... I know I'm not supposed to be here. But I have a guy friend who cried at Walk to Remember. I could get a whole list from him, too.

Spirit now lead me, take me where You will
I long to adore You, reveal Yourself to me
My cry is to please You, so have Your way in me
Completely to bring glory to Your Name

I must be hardhearted, then. ;)

Although I did almost cry tears of joy that the accursed film was finally over (although the end lasted like 45 minutes :-s ).

I think he was referring to the half a dozen endings Peter Jackson decided to tack on at the end of RotK

Yes, that is my main complaint, though I really don't see what all the fuss was for LOTR... I mean really, it shouldn't take 10 hours and 3 films to throw some stupid ring into a hole...
