What books are you reading?
In the same vein as movie/music threads...
I just enjoyed a quick read entitled "The Field Guide to Trolls: How to spot, recognize and eradicate the most common forms of pro dictator trolls online" by Darth Putin KGB. I'm a faithful Twitter follower of Darth Putin (as the name implies, his commentary has a comedic twist) and have genuinely learned about historical events from his writing, and love his writing style. Good times!
I'm currently reading Critical Alliance by Elizabeth Goddard. It is the third and final book in her Rocky Mountain Courage trilogy. In going through my massive collection of books I'm finding some books that are the last book of a trilogy so since the end of the year is quickly approaching I'm trying to wrap these trilogies up. I seriously doubt I will accomplish this but it's worth a shot. This is what I do, I read the first two books in the trilogy and latch on to something different and it is quite a while before I come back to the final book.
"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." Abraham Lincoln
I've done that a few times too and always thought it was a weird thing to do. I'm so happy to hear that it's not just me! If you do it too, Laurie, then it must be a normal book-lover thing to do.
I finished Critical Alliance, very good. Up next for me is The British Booksellers by Kristy Cambron. In finishing trilogies I got on a tangent of finding an author on my very long list that I've not read this year. Kristy Cambron was one that came up. Also I'm wanting to read something that takes place in another country. Hopefully I'll get back to finishing trilogies before the end of the year but I'm not counting on it.

I read " A December Bride" by Denise Hunter. It's a novella. I really enjoy the Hallmark Christmas movie with the same name and rewatched it recently and it says at the beginning that it's based on the book, so I found it. There were some differences but they're both cute in their own way.
I'm currently reading What We Thought We Knew by Michelle Shocklee. I am going to try and get back to finishing unfinished trilogies after I finish this book.
"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." Abraham Lincoln
I just read Robin Jones Gunn's new book, "Tea With Elephants." I love all of her books, and this one was no exception! It's the first book in her new Suitcase Sisters series, and I'm already looking forward to the next one.
I just now finished All We Thought We Knew by Michelle Shocklee, very good. However it was not one of my favorites by her. I thought one of the female characters was selfish and childish at times. Up next for me is The Sisters of Corinth by Angela Hunt, it is is the second book The Emissaries trilogy/series.

I just read "Prairie Rose" by Catherine Palmer. I read it a looong time ago and the other day I found it on my Kindle and wanted to read it again. I'm glad I did - I really enjoyed it!

I finished Star Wars: Scoundrels and the audiobook of Star Wars: Outbound Flight recently.
@Catspaw Scoundrels was alright. Most of the book was kinda slow but the end was awesome! Overall Recommend it. Fair warning: Han doesn't do much in most of the story. The story itself actually admits this a few times!
I started the audiobook, but finished it on ebook. I can't recommend the audiobook as it has a lot of characters and the narrator struggles to do some of the voices.
However, the audiobook of Outbound Flight (another Timothy Zahn story) was great and had an excellent narrator. I listened to it with my brother on our trip to Grandpa's for Christmas. He told me about the parts abridged for the audiobook, but it didn't sound like the missing sections were that important to the plot.
I think I'm gonna take a break from Star Wars books for a bit. Next up is either Starter Villian by John Scalzi or some George MacDonald I think

Thanks for the review, @Patterson. I might read or listen to it eventually. Too many good books, too little time....especially since I love to reread books, which leaves less time for new books.
On that topic, I moved on to the next book in the Town of Hope series, "Prairie Fire." It was interesting what I remembered from when I read it years ago and what I forgot. It definitely held up as a good read, which can't be said for all books.

I finished The Sisters of Corinth, excellent. Up next for me is Double Take by Lynette Eason. This is the first book in her Lake City Heroes series. The third book releases this month.

I'm on to the third in my series, "Prairie Storm." I'm close to the end and reminded about the power of good fiction to make you think far beyond the story. I'm so glad I decided to reread the Town of Hope series by Catherine Palmer.
