Exactly why we need to have a controversial media area

Anyway, are there any fans here besides myself? I really really like it, and the newest episode just came out tonight. There will be another episode tomorrow, and than a two parter on the weekend. I'm very excited. \:D/

I've seen... maybe... a single episode? Most of it, at least? I'm not sure...

I really don't care to watch it, personally. Why would this be controversial media, though? They just use the power (or magic) of elements, don't they? Didn't seem to be that controversial to me (since I can kinda overlook generic uses of magic like that), but granted, I haven't watched hardly any of it.

The art looks interesting, though. Not something that really strikes me, but I can see why people rave about it.

Avatar is controversial because it is based in Hinduism and deep spiritual conections from Hinduism. Some things that come to mind are chakrus, meditation, spirit world, 4 elements becoming one, everything is conected, reincarnation, and of cose the very concept of the avatar is Hindu in origin I think, I'm not sure on that one.

All of the things above are in Avatar.

I've seen clips from it --mostly funny clips :p -- but I'm not planning to watch the whole thing.

And personally I don't really care for the art style...I've seen better looking characters. ;) :p

I've watched the Nickelodeon series Avatar: The Last Airbender ever since it first came out. I've also been a Zutarian (a supporter of the non-canon--and SO much more popular, for the record--Zuko and Katara) since that time. I'm just wondering...any fellow Avatards? Kataanger/Maikoan or Zutarian, I'd LOVE to hear from you!

Or if you're NOT an Avatard, I'd LOVE a good discussion! I do so love debates...\:D/

Ingress: Oh yeah! Toph ROCKS! I LOVED her in "The Runaway":

"What's the matter? Can't handle a little dirt, Madam Fussybritches?" :rofl2:

Kairi: You should get around to watching it! Either on DVD or on the Nicktoons Network (I think it's called).

Although you do have to keep in mind that this is NOT a show based of Christianity, even though it's a very well-written show (for the most part).

I love Avatar, I've seen the entire series, started watching when it first came on. Yes, I'm just a nerd like that, lol. Zuko is my absolute favorite. I love him so much, and I was rooting for him the entire time I was watching.

ZUKO IZ AWESOME!

One question, though, Quadruple-J--Maiko or Zutara? ;)

I actually watched the whole series...it would be a good show if it didn't have so many lame filler episodes...70% of the series is comprised of such episodes, which more than slightly annoys me. ;)

I like the idea of the main plot though...and i'm excited for the motion picture.

Cannon Maiko for me, though Zutara is so much more interesting.

Oh, it's not new. It's the name I've been going by for about two years. I've only just changed it back. Emo=epic awesomeness though. That is for sure.

I've heard a lot of good things about it, but have never actually watched past the first few episodes. Something about it didn't grab me, apparently.
Part of this is probably just being over-hyped, though... This thread might make me give it another shot.
"Sonuna" Taranimak ("Sonuna" Sharkquill) has been content lately. She admired own very fine Bed recently. She talked with a parent recently. She talked with a friend recently. She had a good meal recently. She admired a fine tastefully-arranged Desk recently.
She is a citizen of The United States of America. She is a member of The State of Minnesota. She is a member of The Town of Odyssey.
"Sonuna" Taranimak likes Bauxite, Copper, Green jade, the color navy, cloaks, ballistas, cats for their aloofness and hydras for their seven heads. When possible, she prefers to consume Dr Pepper and ramen.
She lives at a relaxed pace. She tends to avoid crowds. She has a fertile imagination. She is completely disorganized. She is very distant and reserved. She tends not to openly express emotions. She needs caffeine to get through the working day.

You should at least give it another shot. Season (or book) 2 is when it really starts to pick up speed, IMO.

Also, am I the only one who likes the cabbage vendor running gag?
