Well, the one that Regis and iluvsns like the best is $140, plus whatever shipping/service fees they charge. The cheaper carnation arrangement is $75-$95. So....whichever would be fine, I would think.

I like that message... anyone OBJECT to it or have anything relevant to add?
I like "strong in Christ" being worked into it, I was going to suggest that.

I think that http://www.justflowers.com/affiliates/f ... =1.85.15.1 is my preferred option of the ones Laura listed. I think it'd be nice if at least around half of the money went to charity; the effects of that are much more lasting and meaningful than flowers overall.
I really don't care... Whatever you guys do is fine with me. I'd probably have more of an opinion if I'd donated... but I wasn't able to so I don't want to have too many opinions here.

I'm for the least expensive nice one...not trying to sound cheap, but as Sivart said, it's the thought they convey that is important, and the money would be better put to use donated in one form or another.

The white and red cross is really beautiful, but after tax or delivery charges or whatever, it's probably too expensive, especially if we want to save some for charity. So I think we should go for the other white and red one. It's a lot classier than the $75 one, and for just a $20 difference, it's a lot prettier than the $120 one. I know the point isn't to BEDAZZLE the crowd, but I think we can afford to get something nicer to show the family that Lisa was a significant part of our online community.
Either way, I guess the venerable crusader gets to decide.
The note we have is perfect, so I think the order is ready to be placed as soon as Top flips a coin or whatever.
And don't forget the "JF2011" promo code so that we can save $10 more for charity.
Either way, I guess the venerable crusader gets to decide.

So you lost your trust,
And you never should have.
No, you never should have.
But don't break your back
If you ever see this,
But don't answer that.
In a bullet proof vest
With the windows all closed,
I'll be doing my best
I'll see you soon.

Yes, yes! I totally agree. The "white and red" arrangement is gorgeous, and it would still leave us with $50+ to give to charity. That has my vote. To be honest, the $75 one isn't even pretty or anything.Pseudonym wrote:The white and red cross is really beautiful, but after tax or delivery charges or whatever, it's probably too expensive, especially if we want to save some for charity. Catspaw, thanks for finding more a precise location. Laura, that message sounds great to me!

Okay, sounds good, I'll get the order in shortly.
And the crowd WILL be bedazzled!
EDIT:
We can also add chocolates and teddy bears to our order.

Well, I doubt many of the funeral attendees will recognize her username so, I think primarily addressing her as 'Lisa' with a subtle, almost-double-meaning, 'Strong in Christ' at the end, like Laura did, is best. For the record, while I, unfortunately, was unable to contribute financially, I fully back this very kind action from our community. The message is beautiful, as are both of the potential floral arrangements. I've never seen anything like this done by a forum and I'm sure many people at the memorial service will be rather surprised to see it. I think it says a lot about how close-knit this site really is and, even more so, about what kind of a member SNC was.

And they are ordered... for some reason Lisa's mom gave us a different address than that website... but I'll assume that she knows what she is talking about.

Thanks for ordering it, Top! I agree with SivartM's question, and I pray the flowers/note will be a blessing to the family.

Like KBT said, I wish I'd been able to contribute but now is not the time in my life for that apparently. The rest of you that have done this as a gift from the entirety of the board have really done a special thing. I hope Lisa's family knows from this how special she was here. The message and the flowers are really great. What a wonderful, caring group this is, and I'm blessed to be a part of it.

Once all the donations come in... eh, $40ish? But I haven't contributed my own yet. Now isn't... the best time financially for me, but I'll throw some in when the rest goes to charity. And if anyone really wants to contribute, the charity donation isn't quite as time sensitive so its not too late.SivartM wrote:Great! How much money is left?

There was an insane number of fees, even with the $10 off the $139 package ended up being closer to $160.

Oh my word, i thought it was a $60 package or something that we were looking at! Glad we got enough together for that, though I still wanna make a donation somewhere in her memory...The Top Crusader wrote:Once all the donations come in... eh, $40ish?
