New era in space flight

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

New era in space flight

Post by bookworm »

The age of commercial space flight begins today (weather permitting) when SpaceX launches its first craft with passengers in just under four hours. You might want to be watching this historic moment.

These are the official streams from SpaceX and NASA:

You can find several others on YouTube if you want more/different commentary. I'm personally watching this one.

The astronauts are suiting up right now.

Watching the NASA live stream. \:D/ This has to be such a tense wait in the shuttle.

We had the live playing in our living room. Kinda sad that it was cancelled. Excited for Saturday!

I totally forgot about it until my sister called me on Skype so I could talk to my niece, and my brother-in-law was watching the launch at their house. Exciting stuff!

Thankfully, I was able to watch the launch on Saturday. It was pretty exciting! I've never seen a shuttle launch live before in my lifetime that I can remember.

SpaceX stream reuploaded in sections because YouTube couldn't archive it as one long stream: Launch, Coast, Approach and Docking

The return is scheduled for August 2nd.
