Romantic Quote that I'm Going to be Using Soon.

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Romantic Quote that I'm Going to be Using Soon.

Post by American Eagle »

Full disclosure: When I find something cool on the internet, I save it to a private list. After time passes, I decide which ones are the best and I post them to Facebook.

There's one that I'm saving... :-

If I ever begin a serious relationship with a girl, this is going to be my status:
They told me that to make her fall in love I had to make her laugh. But every time she laughs, I'm the one who falls in love.
IT'S GOLD.

In the meantime, feel free to steal this one and become instantly desireable. \:D/

I don't know, it sounds kind of cliche.

I post things recklessly, with little to no quality control. \:D/ That being said, one of my favorite quotes in relation to relationships is this:
Lucy Maud Montgomery wrote:A word of advice, oh, son of your mother. When you go courting take your common sense with you.
--Kilmeny of the Orchard

I like to say it when my friends get into relationships, while I am left in singleness with only my cynicism to comfort me. \:D/

99% of romantic quotes are just a variation of a few basic quotes, thus winding up with most of them being rather cliche. Just say, "HEY, WOMAN. I LIKE YO FACE."

IT'S GOLD.
It sounds gold on first hearing, but if you actually think about it then it becomes meaningless. What is it trying to say? Having the turnaround prefaced with ‘but’ implies that it goes against the first part, however neither statement is contradictory. It says that when she laughs, you are both in love. Isn’t that your goal?

This post made my day!

I think most romantic quotes are very cliched, but if you say it to the right person, it could be the most original and unique quote they ever heard.

Oh brother. Would you people please stop over anylyzing everything? :P It's a totally sweet quote. Maybe not 'instantly desirable' material, whatever material that is, but sweet nonetheless.

I know I would find it sweet if I were the girl. Girls like to be complimented by their dates. And this is a form of one. So leave mister smooth talker here alone and go nag another topic for a while. :noway:

Leave it to bookworm to deconstruct a sentence :(

Also, I dislike sweet-talking because, for the most part, it's not exactly genuinine and its intention is often to let the other person be enamored of you more.

I missed the part where that's a bad thing. :(

It's not necesarily a bad thing, but this is my Candor side showing, I guess, because frankly, I'm sort of suspicious when people start lauding another person with compliments and sweet-talking them :p It's like:
Guy: Babe, [don't even get me started on that; I never understand why people call their significant others babe] there's no one else in the world like you. You're the only one meant for me.
Girl: *melts*
. .yeaaah. All those little platitudes and cute remarks are often just spouted off with no meaning, and a guy often uses them for the sole purpose of getting the girl he likes, his sincerity notwithstanding.
I get that some people mean it, but when you see 12-year olds on Facebook, Tumblr, or Twitter proclaiming their undying love underneath that bathroom selfie they just took to their SO of two weeks, I have as much faith in it as I do when Windows tells me it's going to find a solution for that buggy program.
