The Olympics are coming and I feel old!

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Speaking of the olympics. What do you say about Michael Phelps. You think he's gonna get all the gold medals? I sure do. He schooled his world record in the medley by 2 seconds.
I really hope he gets all of them...that would be SO cool to see!
I watched yesterday when Phelps beat the world record by about 2 seconds...and then the announcers were pretty much saying that Phelps was showing off too much, that he needed to conserve for what's ahead and not waste it now. (I'm just paraphrasing what that they said...) I'm like what the heck, swim 2 seconds faster to beat the world record? why not? I would if I was him. I really really really hope he gets all the golds :)

EDIT: Did anyone see that last night?!? (Sunday night's swimming relay race) That was absolutely aMaZiNg
Eugene Meltsner? I don't think so. Secret agents wear sunglasses and drive around in cool cars. Eugene wears coke-bottle glasses and rides around on a bike.

The first one I remember was Albertville, France back when I was 12. The only reason I remember it was because my teacher wrote the name in permanent marker on the whiteboard. That was also the last year they had the summer and winter games in the same year. After that they started alternating the summer and winter games every two years.

Anyone else watch the women's gymnastics tonight? I feel so bad for that one girl on the USA gymnastics team (I don't remember her name) who faltered on both the balance beam and the floor routine...

I remember two winter olympics ago. what would that be? 12 years? or 10?
I also remember last summer olympics, and possibly the summer games before than.

Come on guys, it's the OLYMPICS! That would be six years ago in Salt Lake City, Athens and Sydney.

I don't really go out of my way to watch any of it but we only get like 3 stations so I don't have much choice. I miss my local 11 'o clock news and Jay Leno. :(

I think the first I remember was the one in Utah... or somewhere. :P This is the first time I've ever been remotely interested though. :D

The Olympics are great! My family always watches the swimming (we are a swimming family). I remember the Salt Lake City games, sort of.

I went to school with Tom Pappas--he was quite a few grades above me, but since our town was so small (under 1000 people) and our school even smaller (under 100), I still knew him pretty well. He was amazing in track and I am hoping he does well this year (he was injured last Olympics). Other than that probably the only other thing I'll watch is gymnastics though......

Hey wait, KBT, I go crazy over the Olympics too! I've lost so much sleep in the past week, lol. BUt I just don't want to miss anything. BTW, did you all hear the controversy about the women's gymnastics? These Chinese girls are supposedly old enough...but 9 months ago one of them was 13 years old, and now she's 16...?? :-k Hmm...

And don't watch men's diving either. Awkward...
