The Canadian Center for Bio-Ethical Reform
Alrighty, so I thought it was about time I share with you all my summer job. I am a summer intern for the Canadian Center for Bioethical Reform, where our goal is to make abortion in Canada unthinkable. CCBR is part of the educational branch of the pro-life movement, aiming to educate the public abo...

That's right, I never did mention! Well, now's as good as anytime to show off my rather controversial (but totally awesome) summer job: http://www.unmaskingchoice.ca/endthekilling \:D/ You can probably surmise from the website what was on the banner. :- Oh, and to answer your question, Dan, a highw...

Re: Frozen
So I'm finally in 18th place (ish...and I'm just glad to be out of the hundreds right now) as holds go for Frozen at the library. Anything I should know before I watch this thing? ;) Don't let the hype ruin it for you, or allow your expectations to be raised too high. It's a really good movie, but ...

<r>I had two big firsts today: I made my first 911 call AND filled out my first police witness statement. <E>\:D/</E> Some guy started arguing with my supervisor and then grabbed our highway banner (which we were attached to) and flipped it down on top of us. Disney sucks. Also, they ought to be utilizing the new media, not impeding it. Gosh.

I'm sure you'll do great. Plus, you have the advantage of working a job where getting doused with lemonade, water balloons, and/or chocolate milk isn't one of the occupational hazards.Shennifer wrote:I leave on Friday for my summer job as Counselor/Lifeguard

Re: Family Force 5: Time Stands Still
I really liked the BZRK video, and while it's still hard for me to imagine having FF5 without Soul Glo, I'm excited to see what the band comes out with next.

Re: The Giver
I've only read The Giver, and thought it was quite interesting/heartbreaking/thought provoking. I want to read it again now, and then compare it to the trailer because I feel like it wasn't necessarily set in a city type setting, but whatever I kind of felt the same way... I feel like it was more o...

Roommates
Okay, so this weekend I got my first set of long-term roommates ever, and while it's obviously a little soon for me to say how well things are going, needless to say I'm a bit bewildered and somewhat discomforted by this new living situation. So, in an attempt to make sense of this slightly awkward,...

Re: Life, life
I just moved to a new city for the summer. I was tempted to get up to all sorts of hijinks while my new roommates are absent, but instead I got the wifi password from the landlady so that I could continue wasting my life away on the internet.

Re: Frozen
And instead of "let it go", the main chorus in Spanish is "I am free". Ah, translations: when it comes to musical lyrics, they don't care about significantly changing the meaning of the song.

They actually released a fourth book in the series relatively recently. It was quite good, I thought.

Re: The Giver
I was shocked that I hadn't heard about this until just a couple of days ago. I absolutely loved this book when I was younger, so I'm really hoping that they don't mess this one up. One of the biggest fan criticisms of the trailer so far is that Jonas' community is in color instead of being monochro...

Re: BBC's "Sherlock" Series
While I do like fan analysis, generally, I try to avoid the overly negative criticism, at least at first. Why ruin my perception of how good Sherlock is when I've yet to notice any flaws for myself? Besides, the criticism usually finds you, eventually.

My many childhood misadventures on the ski hill would suggest not. But hey, at least I'm a better skier than I am a skater. The Kings Daughter wrote:Canadians aren't born with the ability to ski? o.O
