Re: Go green!

Recycling is a given, of course. But we can also encourage corporations to cut back on pollution, perhaps proportional taxes for how much air or general pollution they make.

Re: Go green!

We don't have unlimited resources, eventually we are going to run out of everything that we're using: from plastic to oil to paper. The planet itself will survive all of this, but we probably won't. We are on a crash course to destruction with all the waste we produce. Therefore yes, obviously, we ...

Because anything that hurts the human race is a result of sin. Obviously. Isn't that what Answers in Genesis thinks about everything?

Re: Ask the Gay Guy

I don't believe I've ever watched skating. :( I'm not much of a sports person, but if I do watch sports I'd prefer volleyball or soccer. I could get behind a game of football every now and again too.

Re: Please Clarify First

People change over time. Everyone changes. It can be scary, but it's the way life works. No one can stay the same forever.

Re: Please Clarify First

ok sorry for calling you guys creeps. but they should also see things from my point of view if i'm willing to see things from their point of view. I agree completely, though I will tell you that many of the people here did at some point see things from your point of view in the past, myself include...

@Jelly, I'm not ignorant you just don't agree with me. and John needs to be open to learn too. and I'm not going to change how i think because of him. I don't care how long he has been around I still believe what I do and i'm not changing that because a bunch of creeps think I'm wrong! so don't try...

Re: Ask the Gay Guy

jjjj is mostly interested in controversially antagonizing people as much as possible, so he gets upset when reason and positivity comes along and kills all his fun. :( Also, what's a thread about homosexuality without name calling? Jelly is mostly interested in being a pompous idiot as much as poss...

Re: Ask the Gay Guy

you know what, forget I ever said anything. You all are so closed minded and immature about this that I don't even want to discuss this anymore. Dasi, this is called hypocrisy, and you'll find that it's one of the many reason people hate the church. ;) I would respectfully encourage you to take leave...

Re: Ask the Gay Guy

That seems like a stupid thing to do. This friend was probably quite immature. Generally gays believe that sexual orientation can not be changed, or at the very least it is extremely difficult to do so, as attraction is a bit different to other things like tastes in art or favorite foods. You can n...

Re: Ask the Gay Guy

Coming in and saying that someone is going to hell for something and not entertaining the possibility that that might not be the case isn't close minded and immature?

Re: Ask the Gay Guy

I was looking of all your comments, JJJJ, and I don't think you should be so happy about being gay because being gay is the wrong thing I don't mean to sound harsh but someone needs to tell you that. I don't want you to end up in hell. so I'll be praying for you that you change your life around. @A...

Re: Lotr and Narnia vrs Harry Potter

That's what I was referring to. I meant that I understand how the overall conflict itself is a WWII allegory, but we were specifically talking about Harry's sacrifice, and you mentioned that some fans think it's a WWII allegory. I didn't get how they got WWII allegory out of his sacrifice, though p...

Re: Lotr and Narnia vrs Harry Potter

I don't see how it's a World War II allegory, other than with Fudge = Neville Chamberlain, Dumbledore = Winston Churchill, Voldemort = Hitler, Muggle-borns = Jews, Death Eaters = Nazis, and the Muggle-born Registration Commission and subsequent sentencing to Azkaban = Holocaust/concentration camps....

Re: Lotr and Narnia vrs Harry Potter

Narnia was obvious allegory to Christian themes, most notably: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7Tjs6lqIBo Harry Potter was (probably) incidental allegory to Jesus. In the sense that someone dying to save people from dying and than coming back to life is very common in our western society. Since, yo...

Re: STAR TREK Into Darkness

At the time, no, cause I didn't think of it. But now that you mention it, no, since it might be too complex for J.J. Abrams and friends to think about.

Holy poop, I've become the type of judgmental old series fan that annoys me in Doctor Who. >_>

Maybe he doesn't want to get caught up being known as the Doctor and left after three seasons, much like Tenannt.
