Re: The ToO Discord Server

I just jumped into the ToO Chat (last time I used that my default name was jellyfish11 :o ) and chatted it up with Dan a bit. I was trying to remember what it was that I never found appealing about the chat. Now, comparing it to Discord, I know what it is. As has already been mentioned, there's no w...

Re: It's time to say goodbye

But... ek and darcie already upgraded the phpBB only like eleven years ago. :( and they did it OVERNIGHT. (just kidding, I have no memory of how long that process took and I have no doubt it's massively complex! Eugene, thanks for everything you've been doing so far. As soon as someone posts the Pay...

Re: Coffee Drinkers Unite

How many coffee cups should one person have? Counting the ones I use for storage, I have 14. I think the correct answer is: Always more. ..until you have so many that they don't leave any room in your cupboards for anything else and you have to try to give them away, but everyone you try to give th...

Re: Newsies

I have indescribable nostalgia for the movie. It's tragically underseen. :( Everyone with Disney , go find it! The movie ? (1992) Or the filmed production? I'm guessing you do mean the original movie since the other is too recent to be nostalgic, but this is where my confusion comes from because ev...

I found Trent and JF's "Unofficial AIO Podcast" when I was fourteen, I think through a google search. \:D/

Re: Top 100 spiritually significant films

Thanks, 'Paws! \:D/ The two films in there that I actually remember seeing as a kid were It's a Wonderful Life and Chariots of Fire. Interestingly, there's only two Jesus films that made the list: One is an Italian film from the 60's , and the other is called The Miracle Maker , which is mostly stop...

Top 100 spiritually significant films

Consider this a followup to the many, many discussions and arguments that can be found somewhere deep in the archives of this forum as to what constitutes a "Christian" film. :P I first discovered an early iteration of this Top 100 list (curated by critics, writers and teachers of the Arts...

Re: Hamilton

Totally lived up to the hype. \:D/ Yay! \:D/ I'm excited and slightly nervous (based on the previews) that some of what the ensemble do is going to get lost at the edges of the more focused shots, though. I have similar feelings for sure. Despite my anticipation, I winced a little bit every time th...

Re: Hamilton

Neither the topic or musical genre (hip-hop) would have particularly intrigued me in any way, either... and the first time I listened to the soundtrack a few years ago, it didn't instantly blow me away. But it was juuuust ear-wormy enough to inspire a second listen, and then a third... and I don't k...

Re: Coronavirus

snubs, you gotta stop sounding like a conspiracy theorist. What does it help? Snopes.com has several articles addressing the "hospitals are getting paid more to report COVID deaths" rumours. The first time I heard someone suggest something along those lines, it immediately struck me as str...

Re: Biggest Fears

I think climate change is terrifying. And a close second would have to be how easy it is for us to become so insulated in our man-made societies that we forget/ignore/dismiss how terrifying climate change is.

Also spiders.

Re: Coronavirus

As for here, the Covid-19 cases have been slowing down a lot the last couple weeks. And frankly, I'm not too worried about it anymore. I still haven't been going out unless necessary (and aside from work), and of course I wash my hands and such. But other than that, I don't see it getting much wors...

Re: Coronavirus

:shrugs: I've been trying so hard to do the right thing, but it feels impossible to know what that is anymore. I feel like our governor just gave up and opened the state because almost no one was listening to the stay-at-home order anymore. And I have to work, but I'm worried about getting my paren...

Re: Coronavirus

Hey Americans, what the heck is going on down there? You guys don't even have free health coverage, yet so many of your states are already lifting shutdown restrictions in the face of rising numbers of disease cases? Not trying to be controversial, I'm just genuinely curious. :anxious: I don't think...
