Re: Arrow

I finally watched the first two episodes of Arrow this evening....what an intriguing show! I love the setting and the main character's action plan. I'll let you know what I think of the first season as I continue through it.

Re: Share Your Favorite Poem Here!

For a long time, I could not stand poetry, but after reading The Matched Trilogy by Condie and the Tiger's Saga by Houck, my tastes changed. I have found some wonderful poems I understand and relate with completely. Two of my favorites "The Ship of Death" by David Herbert Lawrence I Now it...

Re: Life, life

I'm off to work at a summer camp for nine weeks!!! I'll pop in here every once in a while. Please pray for me as this job (counselor, lifeguard, kayaking instructor, etc. etc.) can be difficult. But I'm leaning on the Lord for strength, so we'll see how everything goes. May you all have a fantastic ...

Re: Do you belive Christ died for your sins?

But what happens when someone decides that we don't need eggs in the batter? Or they want to add jalapenos? Or what is Simon Magus comes along and says we need a secret recipe to bake spiritual cupcakes? A cupcake is a cupcake. Change it too much and then it isn't a cupcake, it's a muffin...or some...

Re: Do you belive Christ died for your sins?

Well personally I believe that salvation is a communal activity, one must be part of a cake, but Protestants tend to focus more on the individual cupcakes. I think the more uniform frosting one gets with a cake is better than each individual cupcake deciding what is important to them. So, a communi...

Re: What Not to Watch

I'm not sure why I didn't like "The Notebook", maybe because it felt a little too contrived? It reminded me of that Mandy Moore film "A Walk to Remember", where the whole plot seemed purposely engineered to try and get the audience to cry, so I totally didn't buy into it. :noway...

Yeah, his internet isn't slow even though he lives where there is no internet! Technology is amazing. I know,...

You've got to be joking.

I'll add The Eagle to this thread. The book is so much better.....they pretty much flopped the film version (surprise, surprise).

Re: God v. Hitler

(For some reason my post wasn't posted....) Anyways, I had said I believe God and Hitler each had different reasons for annihilating a race/civilization. Check this out and read the first comment made by Tom Ragsdale. ---- This renewal of the earth, of it's good nature, is a foreshadowing of Christ'...

Re: A Friendly Discussion of Catholicism

What would you say about those who have never heard of Christianity? Can they be condemned because of ignorance? Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they ...

Re: A Friendly Discussion of Catholicism

That was applied to specific people who had become incredibly corrupted, rather than to the world in general. An address rather than a general theological statement. "We have all become unclean" yes, they were unclean and their deeds were filth. What to you implies this was meant to apply...
