Re: Will You Be Joining The OAC?
Remember that people pay $15 a month for Netflix. Most families also pay $30-$50 a month for cable. They may have TiVo or DVR to temporarily record shows, but in general, they don't get to keep anything when the subscription runs out. $15 a month for access to wholesome entertainment is not a bad pr...

Re: Odyssey + the Real World
I visited the Des Moines art museum today and saw a painting by Georgia O'Keefe, and as I read the name I heard Jacques Henri's voice in my mind. Then I saw a Monet and heard Connie's voice telling Mitch that it was part of a rhyming theme.

Re: 718: For Three Dollars More
2. One more important problem I had was that on at least two occasions, Mrs. Meltsner spoke in front of the church during a Sunday morning worship service. Now, granted, these events took place during the fictional RoC adventures, but I seemed to me that they were representative of what would be a ...

Re: 725: Home Again, Part 2
So I know I'm terribly late on posting a review of this episode, but since I'm in love with Jason, hence the screen name, I thought it only appropriate to add my comments. 1. Jason's back!!! 2. Wooton's version of Clue is AH-MAY-ZHING. I want a copy of this game. 3. The villians were too cheesy, Eug...

Re: 732: Repent After Me
I was really thinking that Vance was going to be the one behind the cheating. It doesn't really make sense for Jay to set all that equipment up. He may not be dumb, but he's not that smart. It also make Jay seem more one dimensional like Rodney, which doesn't add up to his good guy side we saw in M...

Re: 733: Big Trouble Under the Big Top
I couldn't help thinking back to Like Father, Like Wooton. A mystery involving clowns. I liked hearing the circus terminology, learned some things I didn't know before. And I liked the setting--a circus--something fun and different. And the mystery was fun. The ending was terrible. People nearly die...

Re: 734: Life Expectancy, Part 1
This season I decided to listen to the episodes one at a time, as they are aired, and the next couple weeks will be very hard to wait out. This was a very good episode but I do have a few complaints. 1. I really, really wanted to feel sad for us losing June Kendall but it's been sooooo long since we...

Re: 732: Repent After Me
Warning: review contains a spoiler. I liked this episode--a good, solid story about the importance of doing the right thing. It went a bit deeper in explaining just what repentence is, that it involves confession and seeking forgiveness. And it was all wrapped up in an appropriately interesting myst...

We've been studying Proverbs in a Bible study and last week we came to chapters 26 and 27 and these great verses: Proverbs 26:4, 5 "Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him. Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes."...

Re: 729: No Chemistry Whatsoever
I was disappointed with this episode. I felt like it could have been so much better based on the premise that Eugene enexpectedly becomes Connie's professor. The Eugene/Connie storyline was good, almost great. The Barrett storyline was great. Together, they made the episode disappointing. I think th...

Re: 731: More Than a Feeling
A few observations: 1. I wrote a love letter from Katrina to Eugene about a month ago and it sounds very similar to the conversation they have on the way to the store. Which is kind of eery. http://thetoo.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=33311 2. Was anyone else wondering which first date Eugene and Katr...

Re: AIO Plush Characters
Come on, Christian. Wouldn't you like a cute stuffed Whit doll sitting on your mantle? I just saw an image of this in my head and it was disturbing. I would not buy plush characters since AIO, in my head, is full or real people, not cartoon characters. I'm not even a fan of the pictures of characte...

Today I needed sunscreen and a co-worker let me use hers. She handed me the bottle and said, "You won't get burned, this is SPF 100." I turned to my brother and fellow Odyssey fan and we both said "you could catch on fire and it wouldn't penetrate this stuff." Then we continued w...

Re: Interview with Peachey Keen (Austin & Tasha Peachey)
Since I'm unfamiliar with the blog and blogcast mentioned, these questions might already be answered, but here are a few to get you started: 1. How did you first hear Odyssey? 2. When has something you learned on Odyssey helped you in real life? 3. What's the funniest thing a non-fan has said to you...

Re: How Many Years Have You Listened to Odyssey?
My parents have been listening since Family Portraits (in fact, I remember listening to tapes of FP that they had recorded from the radio complete with commentary from Dr. Dobson) so I've been listening--willingly or not--all 26 years. The first specific memory I have of listening to AIO was when I ...

I did not realize that Hal Smith was the drunk in The Ghost and Mr. Chicken--I love that movie, by the way. So, I found the clip on youtube and watched.

Two things: 1. I was watching TV with my niece last week, a Keebler commercial came on and we recognized Andre Stojka's voice. "It's Whit!" we both shouted. 2. I live in Mitchell, SD which is the location of the World's Only Corn Palace (a building decorated with murals made entirely of ea...
