Re: Puppy Help
Graces - Yeah, I tried him with a crate...actually almost identical to the one you posted a pic to. worked for a while. Unfortunately, after pulling the blanket through and shredding it, it got warped...then further warped as he escaped multiple times while I was at work...then he started chewing th...

Puppy Help
So...I have a 9 month German Shepherd puppy...who has way more energy than I know what to do with (got him 3 months ago at 6 mo). Anyone have any ideas on keeping him occupied? I don't run fast enough to run him down on walks. When I take him to the park and throw things, all he does is trot after t...

Re: General Prayer Requests
TKD - that would be so horrible for it to be so fast like that. Will be praying.
I'm just having some work-related concerns right now, and am looking for a new job, so prayer for that would be appreciated.

Glad I finally see a few people like me are out there...semi-hippie tree-hugger recycling freaks...lol. It drives me nuts that people don't look into the long-term future for us. They preach about voting for Christian leaders so that future generations will have a better country, but neglect caring ...

Re: Male LU student shot and killed by cop IN Female Res Annex
It sounds like justified use of force to me - protecting yourself or someone else. There should be no negative consequences from the actions of the officer. The end result was sad for sure, and it'll be a tough recovery for the officer, but there shouldn't be any legal issues arising, particularly s...

They could if they catch on fire then tackle you! :-P In other news...I think everyone has gotten off topic. And I do like Josef's question of "Do you really have to be right in order to win an argument?" Good statement...

Re: Girls wearing guy pants/jeans
Wow, this topic again?? Well, might as well label me as the Dark Side...most of my t-shirts are gender neutral, and some of my casual pants are mens...women's pants don't have the handy cargo pockets that I need! And no worries about skin tight stuff in the men's section either. My dress clothes are...

Re: The Hobbit: That Christopher Tolkien Did Not Like
The only thing (really only thing) I hated was Gandalf's story about how the game of golf was invented...because, uh, golf? In Middle Earth?? NO! That was in the book. Wow, really? I haven't read the book in 10 years, so I guess my memory is a bit off...but proves my point of it being less real tha...

Re: The Hobbit: That Christopher Tolkien Did Not Like
<t>Wow, I'm really surprised at the negative stuff on here. I was actually originally slightly dreading The Hobbit because I didn't want Middle Earth to be turned into a silly little-kid fairy tale if it were based upon only The Hobbit. And since it is impossible to make a movie out of Tolkein's app...

Re: Nazarene/Wesleyan Q&A
Wow, sorry it has taken so long to get to this question, I completely forgot about this. For the answer, yes, I believe in "just war". Some of the reasoning can be supported by specific verses, other reasoning from the general principles of right and wrong. The Bible does not say war is de...

<r>Agree with most of the stuff on here (aside from Ecclesiastes)...hate the lists of OT rules in Leviticus, and the endless genealogies of Numbers. I do like Judges though, despite being filled with history repeating itself...still interesting history to me! And I'm with Sherlock on the verses on w...

Praying for your friend, Termite, as well as you.
Sunshine, praying for your dad's friend and his family...sounds like a scary time.
Laura, that's so sad! Praying.

Re: Prayers for the Departed
hmm...ok, thanks for answering my question! I agree that 1 Timothy doesn't really hit the mark in my opinion, but someday I'll read Maccabees and get a picture of the full context.
