Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy

https://youtu.be/TTYx1ETg9lo?si=IoN_scZMQT4eDq3D

I'm hyped for this one. Mark Hamill voices Luke! Jedi Bob is still a yellow fig! This is a four parter, so I'm hoping for at least 20 minute episodes. It comes out on Sept 13th.

Re: What books are you reading?

I just finished Star Wars: Crucible. This one was really good, but you should to read The Legacy of the Force and Fate of the Jedi serieses first. It was the last book chronologically in the Legends timeline, and while it was a decent stopping spot, I do want to know what happens with a couple antag...

Today I learned

Thought I'd make a thread for the random but interesting stuff we learn every once in a while. It doesn't strictly have to be the day you learn it. I learned that the only known use of the word "bequit" was in 1577 in the writings of Richard Stanyhearst, an Anglo-Irish scholar, translator, ...

Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Season two is goes back and forth from being really good to being super cringey. Episodes 3, 4, and 8 were pretty good! I'll try to be minor with my spoilers. Episode 1 was alright overall. Spock was off again, but the super serum was cheesy fun. Episode 2 Boring Courtroom Episode 3 referenced the t...

Re: video games

It was blocky because it's creator was inspired by an older block game called Infiniminer. Minecraft had enough changes that I wouldn't quite call it a ripoff, but I think prototypes used some Infiniminer code. Also Lego thought about buying Minecraft! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ENzmEWIetc

Re: What books are you reading?

I'm working on Star Wars: Apocalypse and Speaker For The Dead audiobooks(sequel to Ender's Game) right now. Ender's Game was darker than I'm used to, but overall an interesting story. It's sequel's characters are more melodramatic than I prefer, but I want to see what happens anyway. Ender and Valen...

Re: The Acolyte

I'm a big Star Wars fan, but I'm gonna sit this one out. The showrunner made some comments that tell me it's not a show I want to support.

Sam Suksiri's other radio drama

Sam Suksiri, in addition to writing for AiO and working at a Lego store (check out his youtube channel), also made this radio drama: The Rest Stop At The End Of The Universe. https://samsuksiri.com/rest-stop-private

I thought it was quite good! I wish he made more episodes of it!

I don't do spotify, but my youtube recap said I was in the top 5% of Weird Al Yankovic listeners. 8-)

Re: Cheese

Cougar Gold gets my vote for best cheese ever. It's a sharp white cheddar made by Washington State University. It's stupid expensive but it's sooo good. I read something once that said they use apple juice in the process of making it!

A Friend's Blood Sugar

I have a friend at church who's a fellow type 1 diabetic and he suffers from serious high blood sugar issues. It's often over 600 (for context I think a non-diabetic body normally keeps it around 80-110) and it's doing bad things to the rest of his body. He was asking me for advice today, but I real...

I really want to see this one, but it skipped the theaters within reasonable driving distance. I'll wait until it hits dvd rental or streaming I guess. The trailer looks like good campy fun.

Re: What books are you reading?

I recently finished From A Certain Point of View: Return Of The Jedi. It's an anthology book of short stories about background and/or offscreen characters from that movie. Most of the stories were mediocre at best, unfortunately with four that uh... don't align with FotF's views on family or mine, b...

Re: What books are you reading?

I finished 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea last month. It seemed a lot slower than the other Jules Verne books that I've read, but overall it was okay. There was one point where Verne went completely overboard describing the beauty of a wall of ice! Maybe I was just in a weird mood, but I thought that ...

Bart: Whit's End! I think we'd all agree that it's a great area of town! Why, it's next to such great businesses as The Electric Palace, which is having a sale on slightly damaged double A batteries, by the way. But, let's take a look around! Connie: Ey, this here's where Whit makes his sundaes at a...

Re: What books are you reading?

I just finished listening to audiobooks of Redwall and Young Whit #1(it's on the club right now). Young Whit was pretty good! I thought it was interesting that it seemed to tie into The Jesus Cloth episode in the epilogue. It seems pretty obvious that Whit's blue cloth has no healing powers, but I'm...

Re: What books are you reading?

Thanks Patterson. I appreciate it. I think one of the reasons I haven't made much of an effort to read Star Wars books is because I've heard variations of that kind of stuff from other people about hit-and-miss or the characterization seeming off. I am curious about the evil otter queen, so keep me...

Re: Carman died?!

I was sad when I heard on the radio that he passed. Even scored his Mission 3:16 cd at the thrift store just a few days later. I enjoy listening to his Christmas album every December as it's radically different than the same old christmas songs that play on loop for two months.
