Re: Chronological Listen-Through
Wow, great minds think alike! That's awesome! I adore Hal Smith. He may not be my *favorite* Whit, but I think he's the best one. He is so real and his voice has a color to it that brightens every episode he's in. I am really interested in tracking character progressions and getting better un...

Re: Chronological Listen-Through
It's crazy you brought this up because this has been something I started doing semi-recently! I'm not super far along, only like album 6 I think, but I am really enjoying it! It's giving me a much great appreciation for Hal Smith. Personally, Paul will probably always be the Mr. Whittaker in my hear...

Re: 902-903: California Dreams, Parts 1-2
Ok, I'm a little late to the chaos on this one but wow, that was something that happened! 'Twas indeed very fluffy. I am really confused about mainly Buck in this episode... like WHAT ON EARTH? How? Why? Did Eugene and Katrina know that he hopped on a plane to crash the concert? Doubtful. And that d...

Re: Post the last AIO episode you listened to!
Hey me too! I finally caught my parents up on some of the newer albums on our road trip while also relistening to some old ones. It has been so long since I listened to album 45 that I completely forgot what an absolute tank of an episode Silent Night was. Feels for days. I really miss John Fornof.

Re: AIO Club VS Radio
I'm a pretty sporadic AIOC member, I usually cancel my membership after a new album airs and renew it and catch up on the club exclusives when a new album drops. I collected a lot of CDs before the club became a thing and that is still probably my preferred method of listening. There is some weird p...

Re: 902-903: California Dreams, Parts 1-2
So I actually wasn't a big fan of 'For A Song' but this one was really fun. That's funny, because I preferred "For a Song" to this episode but I still enjoy them both. \:D/ This episode surprised me in how extremely modern it felt. It's different for Odyssey. Not a bad thing necessarily, ...

Re: 902-903: California Dreams, Parts 1-2
So I actually wasn't a big fan of 'For A Song' but this one was really fun. I think the "He was talking about ordering a woman at a drive-through" gag geniunely might be one of my favorite Odyssey jokes. I really want to like the Buck-Jules dynamic more, and I for sure don't dislike it or ...

Re: 898-900: The Rydell Revelations - SPOILERS
I am positive that none of us are trying to trash these episodes and say they are definitively horrible and no one should like them. I'm not trying to say that at all. I have no interest in engaging in conversation dedicated to tearing down and hating aio. This is a productive, thought-provoking co...

Re: 898-900: The Rydell Revelations - SPOILERS
Thanks, Scientific Guy! It's good to see a statement directly from the AIO team about that! My argument concerning the moral in "The Rydell Revelations" itself still stands. As you have brought up, the episode can and will be viewed in isolation until album 70 and will always stand alone i...

Re: 898-900: The Rydell Revelations - SPOILERS
I think this point may be overstated a bit (incidentally, I don't think I did say that, although I did express, in one draft, that Emily isn't perfect (being only human)). The fact that everybody has done wrong, in the sense of being sinners and deserving of God's judgment, does not mean that every...

Re: 898-900: The Rydell Revelations - SPOILERS
Emily is, to the best of my knowledge, the only one who is honest and trying to uncover the truth where it is obstructed. She's even enough of a stickler to say that she came to the wrong conclusion, based on the grounds that, while she believed (for reasons that were vindicated) that it was Morrie...

Re: 893: "Badges of Honor"
Yeah! The moral that "your accomplishments don't define you" is one that hits home for me pretty hard so I'm always excited to see it covered (and I think they did it pretty well!). But yeah, with Sparky incident I was just like "Nah Whit, let them feel bad for a sec. They kinnnnda me...

Re: 898-900: The Rydell Revelations - SPOILERS
WHOO. This episode was ALOT. I haven't posted sooner because I got myself locked out of my account for a week but I'm back because of the gracious help of Catspaw. The episode I think was pretty good...overall. But Whit's behavior and end-of-episode explanation to Emily has been bothering me tirele...

Re: 893: "Badges of Honor"
It was pretty solid for a club episode! I definitely did not expect it to dive in the direction that it did near the end there but it made things way more interesting. I also really dig the moral.
