Re: Summer 2020 Plans

my biggest plan is to graduate and get my bachelor's :anxious: after that, start making some money, apply for jobs maybe in london or dublin (but that depends on the whole virus situation), bike around the country a bit, maybe go to the gym ( :mecry: ), and hopefully make it to berlin and maaaaybe ...

Oh, wow, that's super cool that you won a couple of games! Can I ask how much your winnings ended up being? Was it in the $1 - $5 range, or was it a bit more substantial?

"I've decided to dedicate myself completely to making my husband happy. I will cook three meals a day, have a few children, and wear a veil over my head in his presence. I thank you." (Even though Margaret doesn't technically speak this line, I contend that it is a Margaret quote because s...

"...and that was the year that Claude bought me the refrigerator..." This was said by an old woman telling a story at some point. Welcome to the ToO! :D I'm glad that your listening marathon brought you here. I think this line is from "The Day After Christmas" from the very firs...

why did you hate friends if i can ask? :-k although over the years i don't like it as much as when i was younger tbf You know, it's been a while since I watched any of it, but probably it was just that I tend to have a hard time watching anything with a laugh track. :anxious: I also remember not fi...

Re: EUROPE!!!

the first part of your post reminds me of Joey from Friends using air quotes far too liberally...such as when he says "'I'm 'sorry'!" I made it about five episodes into Friends before realizing it was not the show for me, so this is an unfamiliar reference. :- i'm honestly not the biggest...

Re: WHAT ARE PORK RINDS

I think they are, yeah. I believe that they're pork cracklings/fried pork skin or something. They sound vile, I've never had them, and I've never met anybody who has; to me, they've always been that weird snack available at the gas station that nobody ever actually buys.

Re: Duolingo

I went on Duolingo a few years ago to pick up some more German after I studied abroad in Austria. While it's SUPER effective at getting you to want to stay working in the app with the gamification of it all, I don't think it's really good at helping you retain much, or, more importantly, at helping...

Hah! I didn't know that's where the tall business card originated. I checked Jared's LinkedIn profile, and it appears he did go to Grove City as a political science major from 2004 to 2008. Yep, that's where the picture's from! I think the whole "I am tall" business card was a thing for a...

A burning question for older ToOers/members of the Town Hall

Because finals and project deadlines loom ever nearer, I needed a new way to procrastinate (don't judge me :x). And what better way to procrastinate than to type one's college name into the search box on the ToO? I go to Grove City College, and I was curious to see if any other ToOers had come here ...

I'm reading "Magic for Marigold" by L.M. Montgomery. It's one of her lesser-known books, and I'm honestly not sure if I've read the whole thing before or not. :anxious: I think I at least started reading it when I was much younger, and I might have even read the whole thing, but that woul...

Re: 51. Take it From the Top Review!

As for not reading the whole thing, that hardly even seems worth justifying to be honest. It's quite long. Sometimes one reads long posts in their entirety, sometimes not. I do agree it was well written, though. ...You may want to rethink this approach to reading long posts, especially if you're re...
