Re: Mockingjay Films

Are you? Are you? Coming to the tree?
Where they strung up a man? (They say he murdered three.)
Strange things did happen here; no stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree...
I cannot believe how catchy that song is. The book did not prepare me.

Re: Adventures in Odyssey Headcanons

Castles & Cauldrons was never really all that popular... which runs contrary to its goals of deliberately brainwashing its players, which explains why it's so different from virtually(?) every role-playing game ever. Andromeda considers it a bit of a misfire.

Re: The Dark Knight

I believe the original plan was to have the Joker back in the third movie, which may have explained some things. With Ledger's death I think they may have briefly considered recasting, but ultimately not only wrote out the Joker but ended up with a considerably different film than originally intend...

Oh, I did leave, didn't I?

And now I'm back. I can't promise I'll stay long...

...but I did want to say this:

Hello, Odyssey.

I've come home.

I'm so used to thinking of it as the second-to-last book in the series.

Re: Doctor Who: The First Twelve Doctors

<t>I read a goodly number of transcripts of One and Two until I got to "Evil of the Daleks". From what I've seen, I certainly like both of their performances...

...next to which Jon Pertwee and, oddly, Tom Baker left me kind of cold.

Tennant's awesome. Smith's cool. That silhouette in the door...

Well. Of course they'd adapt "The Empty House". ("Sniper! Take cover! Sniper!")

(I say this without having seen any of series two. I wonder if that offers any clues, though?)

Yeah. "chills" is strangely appropriate.

The world's catching fire and no one is safe.

Re: The Ultimate, Final Debate: Blackaard VS Novacom!!!!

...okay, yeah, Richard Maxwell is interesting.

Besides his personal criminal activities, there's something about the way he goes straight from being an orderly at an old folks' home to showing up as an employee of Campbell Community College two episodes later without any warning or explanation.

Re: Doctor Who Series Preview

So... "Nightmare in Silver". I thought that Cybermen aside, "Mr. Clever" was both the best thing about the episode and much less, even then, than he could have been which I partly base on Neil Gaiman admitting on Twitter, when asked, that a lot apparently got cut out from the fin...
