Re: Most politically incorrect episode?

I recently listened to "Lincoln" and after how many times of hearing it, I realized for the first time that Hal Smith (and maybe also Jim Custer? Just a guess without going to AIOwiki) is playing a runaway slave... It's pretty cringy with him trying to use "black-speak".

Re: Starting over

This is pretty much the only way I've ever listened, getting more complete as I added to my collection. This is my second time through with all of the episodes, including the lost and dusty episodes. I also listen on my commute, but since it's only an 8 minute commute, it takes about two or three ye...

Re: Dated episodes

That's a great example, Jimmy Barclay Fan. I actually think that about a lot of older books and movies - there are oodles of plot lines that would be totally moot with the existence of a cell phone. It doesn't make it bad because at the time they didn't exist, but it does make you think, "That...

Re: New Antagonist?

Honestly, I think the real reason we've lost most of the slice of life episodes... and hear me out, I promise I'm not a monster... But it's all the episodes focused on missions. I love that AIO is pushing more of a global focus, but after a while, another episode with our cast of characters travelin...

Re: OAC for Only $5 / New Promo Code *Today Only* 2/6/2015

As always and forever, I'm still opposed to the club because AIO is a ministry, and alienating anyone in your fanbase who is a missionary overseas or who does not live in a wealthy enough family just doesn't seem like good vision. It's a fine idea if it didn't involve the exclusive episodes. But I'v...

Re: AIOWIKI Doesn't Work

It's back! Mostly. Nice work Shadowpaw. Thanks. And now that we have it back, I just today remembered the site I used before aiowiki; aiolib. If AIOwiki every goes back down, I recommend it. It's a little out of date these days, but anything before Album 55 is there. http://www.aiolib.com/index.php ...

AIOWIKI Doesn't Work

AIOWIKI is great. Fantastic. I use it very frequently.
Sadly, it hasn't worked for me now for over a week. I got it to work one day. But then it failed again.
Does anyone know what's up, or if I'm the only one with problems?
Also, this site is much slower than usually. Is there a connection there?

Yes, you could listen to 58 without having heard 57. The trunk stuff will make perfect sense with one sentence from Connie in the first episode.

Re: Question about The Ties that Bind...

Except, I would argue that the spoiler in Life Expectancy will be a pretty big shocker if you just hear about it in passing in the first episode of The Ties that Bind.

Re: The Ties that Bind

We really should be! Wow. They are fantastic. There is a discussion on the Soda Shop, but it's riddled with spoilers. They're put in spoiler tags, but it renders the discussion impossible to comprehend. Honestly, especially with the club releasing the album early, I think the week to week discussion...

Re: AIO Frozen Parody - Do You Want to to Have Adventure?

Haha, I finally got around to watching Frozen yesterday for the first time, so this is the first parody I've heard in which I actually know the context from the movie. Anyway, nice work. Lyrics and Vocals are pretty spot on.

Re: How Relevant Are Message Boards In The AIO Community?

This is just an idea, and probably not a very great one at that. But I'll put it out there anyway. What if AIOWiki integrated a message board feature, strictly for Adventures in Odyssey, mainly focused on the latest news and discussing our thoughts. I really miss that sort of discussion that used to...

Re: Thoughts on the Current State of Odyssey

I think I mostly agree about the show being a discussion started, (I think some of the older episodes were way too preachy with Whit wisdom tacked on at the end) but one hesitation I have is for the kids listening who don't have anyone to discuss the episodes with. I'm sure this number isn't large, ...

A Friendly Discussion of Catholicism

Such enjoyable writing, Christian. Though your slamming of GRC is wholly unwarranted. Paul McCusker is Catholic. Why would he say that "in those specific words" that people are saved when they accept Christ, when Catholics don't even believe such things? We know that there are many ways t...

I work in a library, and every time I see this magazine come through I think of AIO, for pretty obvious reasons. I mean, even the colors are similar. A little different font, but close at least. http://1stchoicemags.com/mag_images/987_1.jpg Also, Odyssey Realty. http://www.odysseyrealestate.com/asse...

Re: Katrina Meltsner talking to Katrina Shanks Video

Quite amusing, thank you for that enjoyable experience. The random clips afterwards were a fun touch. Thanks. I really wanted to fit them in somewhere, but they just didn't work, so left them at the end as a sort of bonus. This is the best one you've made. I was laughing so hard listening to this! ...

Katrina Meltsner talking to Katrina Shanks Video

It's finally here! Three years coming (darn college taking all of my time), I have finally made the third video in my running series of AIO clip videos. This time around, Katrina Shanks comes knocking at Eugene and Katrina Meltsner's house, and is quite confused to discover Eugene has gotten married...

Hmm. I can usually pick out Corey Burton in trailers and cartoons, but I didn't hear it in this one. Listening again, I think it is possible that it's him, but my gut tells me otherwise. Tough to call.

Re: African Natives and Spears and Conflict, Oh My!

First post of 2014! Dave Madden's passing brought me back to the checking the message boards on a more regular basis. I can't tell if I'm surprised or not that there aren't a lot of threads discussing the new episode or the club. But as Jonathan said, we've hit that subject pretty hard. Anyway, I al...
