Re: 2020 Summer Olympics

Woohoo! I love the Olympics and I really hope that everything goes well, with safety and good health all around. I'm more invested in the Winter Olympics, between my personal sports preferences and Canada's medal odds being better in winter ;) but during the Olympics almost any event can be fun to w...

Re: What books are you reading?

I'm starting "Vying for the Viscount" by Kristi Ann Hunter. I've really enjoyed her previous historical books so I'm looking forward to it.

Re: New Chapter of Life

I hope you get adjusted to the system as your new place soon. They should (emphasis on should) understand that it takes a little time to get used to a new job. I'll be praying for your foot issues and your work adjustment, Bren. :)

Re: What books are you reading?

A while back in this thread, I think Catspaw mentioned she had read Hurricane Boy by Laura Roach Dragon, and it sounded interesting, but I wasn't able to get it from the library until a couple weeks ago. I enjoyed it! And it was definitely a unique perspective on Hurricane Katrina. I'm currently tr...

Re: What books are you reading?

I'm planning to read the new Mary Connealy book at some point too, Laurie. Often she writes trilogies that are closely linked, so sometimes I wait for all three to be out and then read them all together. I just preordered the second one from my local Christian bookstore because it's out in July, so ...

Re: Stanley Cup Playoff 2021 Live Chats

Yes, there are some teams that are more surprising than others in the third round! I was surprised that Vegas won last night. I really thought the Avs would drag it out to a seventh game and then win. I'm guessing nobody (other than a few hardcore Habs fans) picked Montreal to make it this far! Good...

Re: America's Got Talent (Season 16)

I do like the idea of a variety show! You never know what you're going to get. As a Canadian, I am discriminated against by the good folks at Peacock. I think I can access it through the website of the Canadian channel that airs it if I log in with my TV provider info to watch older episodes, or at ...

Re: America's Got Talent (Season 16)

I don't usually watch this show but I keep seeing ads for it and it does look like fun. If I do end up watching, I'll come post about it!

Re: New AIO Subreddit: Welcome to Odyssey

Looks like fun! I spend almost no time on Reddit (usually just when my brother sends me a Reddit link, which is usually hockey-related) so I hadn't actually looked at AIO stuff there.

Re: Unpopular AIO Opinions

That is definitely controversial, though I know a few people would agree. I think that they did a great job making some wonderful episodes between Hal Smith and Paul Herlinger, but I don't think that's a good enough reason to say that Whit isn't needed. It's a fictional town with an established funk...

Re: What books are you reading?

I'm reading "Witness Protection Unraveled" by Maggie K. Black. It's off to an exciting start, and still something I can easily read during hockey commercial breaks. ;)

That's interesting. I have occasionally used Dropbox for work to send larger files (not recently) but never thought of it for photo storage.

I thought maybe you were referring to both aspects, since when I watched the trailer I saw what did indeed look similar to the undead pirates.

Re: Jungle Cruise

Nice! It still looks like fun. POTC ended up being awesome while based on nothing more than a ride, so there's no reason that this can't be fun and still have a decent story too. I will definitely watch this at some point. We'll see what my theatre status is this summer. It looks like a great theatr...

Re: What books are you reading?

I am currently reading Manhunt, by James L. Swanson. Adding that to my list. This inspired me to look it up on Amazon and add it to my wish list as a potential gift for my dad or my brother. Sounds interesting! Laurie, have you read that one? You're the big Lincoln fan! Yes, I've read Manhunt. It i...

I'm glad you found a place closer to church with a nice landlady, radgeek. Are you still looking for a better solution or is this going to serve your needs for now?
