Re: What books are you reading?

Yes, I know how fortunate I am. That's one of the reasons I want to keep supporting them - so that they can stay open! I'm sorry you don't have one in your area.

I've never read anything by that author, Laurie. I'll have to look her up, since you have good taste in books.

Re: What books are you reading?

Sounds very interesting, Laurie! I hope your finger is okay. I'm starting a non-fiction book. "Shackled: One Woman's Dramatic Triumph Over Persecution, Gender Abuse, and a Death Sentence" by Mariam Ibraheem with Eugene Bach. I wanted to get a good non-fiction book to read this summer and t...

Re: Uncharted

Yeah, it's one of those movies that if you insist upon everything being plausible and realistic then you should just skip it, but if you can just enjoy the fun and not worry about the feasibility, then it's worth the watch. Luckily for me, I am willing to suspend my disbelief for this kind of thing.

Re: Dreams

I had a dream the other night that my sister gave me a gift basket of toothpaste and toilet paper for my birthday. I say dream, but it felt more like a nightmare at the time. I think my subconscious predicted 2020. Oh dear, you might be right. I don't know if I want to hear about your future dreams...

Re: Uncharted

Yeah, that's how I felt too. I hope you can find it as I'm guessing that for the price of free you'll enjoy it. It's hardly an instant classic. It is fun without being stressful, which is just what I wanted to watch.

Re: ToO Fantasy Football: 2022 League Thread

Catspaw, that means you'll also have to recruit Shadowpaw once you decide to get over yourself and play American fantasy football with us. :x Sure, if his team (or who I assume his team is...) beats my team, then I'll switch over the to the inferior American product. Four downs? Lame! (I really onl...

Re: Andor

The new trailer looks great! I like getting a better idea of what the show will be like.

Top's post reminds me that maybe I should watch Rogue One before I start the show. It was good but I haven't watched it for a while. I have some time, since the release date was pushed back.

Re: Uncharted

It looks like fun and I wouldn't mind seeing it in theatres just because I haven't see a movie in theatres since Spiderman, and it looks like a good big-screen movie. However, it doesn't look like a movie that I absolutely must see, so I might not get motivated enough to make plans and leave my hous...

The account is active (as in, not deactivated) and therefore should be accessible. PM me if you want to sort this out.

I'm boycotting due to the egregious oversight of no CFL fantasty league. :noway:

Yes, that's one of those random facts that seems like it must be made up but isn't! Thanks for the article link, bookworm.

Re: Shazam! Fury of the Gods

I enjoyed the first movie, but wasn't so into it that I knew that there was a second one coming soon. Thanks for posting the trailer, bookworm. It looks like fun! I probably won't see it in theatres but just wait like I did with the first one, but I do want to see this eventually. It's a cute sense ...

I'm starting "Keeping Them Safe" by Linda Goodnight. Her books are always so sweet so I'm looking forward to this new one.

Re: Andor

Oh, I hadn't heard that it was a bigger budget than the other shows. Is it going to be more episodes? It seems surprising that it would cost more than some of the other shows, but I'm no expert. I think it's going to be two or three seasons of 12 episodes. Wow, that is quite extensive. I wasn't thi...

Re: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

I am unsure what is going on in this trailer. It looks a bit all over the place. It looks interesting and it makes me curious - but I wish it was a little less disjointed. I realize it is the teaser trailer so maybe the next trailer will be more like what I was expecting.

Re: Adventures in Odyssey Club Rebrand

I didn't have any issues. I downloaded a few favourite episodes onto my iPad and my phone. Like snubs, I thought it would be easier to be able to download without clicking on the episode, but it wasn't a big deal for a few episodes. I like being able to use a pin. No complaints here.

Re: Thor: Love and Thunder

I went a couple of days ago. Without adding any spoilers, I would be in the "mixed feelings" category. I really enjoyed some parts that were fun/funny/sweet, and found some parts sadder than I anticipated. Maybe part of it was that I expected it to be more a rollicking adventure and less o...
