Re: What books are you reading?

I'm not familiar with that author, Laurie. I hope you enjoy it! I'm starting "A Castaway in Cornwall" by Julie Klassen. I love her books and got behind on reading her new books. I buy them as they are released and then fall into the trap of saving them for the perfect time because I know t...

Re: What books are you reading?

I just got done reading God Gave Rock and Roll to You: A History of Contemporary Christian Music . I have to say having a Dad who worked in Christian radio most of the information in this book was not new to me, however it interesting to how the effects of the industry have been and still continue ...

Re: 976-978: The Rydell Realizations

I think it would have been more interesting if I was invested in any of the characters, which I'm not really. There was a bit of an interesting story and mystery, and it definitely sounds like there will be more to come. It wasn't bad, just not characters that I really care about or like that much. ...

That sounds amazing! I love Peter Rabbit. Enjoy the special birthday celebration, and share a picture of the cake if you think of it. :yum:

Love the gif tradition continuing, bookworm! So close to actually being a Friday Pi Day. Haha, one day! Laura, when I saw you posted I was prepared to wish I had been with you to enjoy a variety of homemade pie, so maybe I feel better now? ;) You'll have to save your energy for another day. Star Wa...

Re: What books are you reading?

That sounds interesting, Laurie! I'm reading "Tuesdays with Morrie" by Mitch Albom. I've been meaning to read it for years, and I was especially curious when I realized the AIO episode "Tuesdays with Wooton" was obviously named after that book. It's very good so far. I would defi...

I'm reading "Experiencing Go's Love: A Year of Abundance" by Sandra Byrd. She's great at writing fiction and non-fiction.

Wow, that's very high praise! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much.

I heard on the radio that part two has an actual ending and that the hoped-for part three will start a new story. Was that your impression too, bookworm?

Re: Dune

I hope you enjoy it! I still haven't seen the first one. My brother asked if I wanted to see the second one because he forgot I hadn't even seen the first one (after which I claimed victory in a totally unrelated old watching-a-movie-in-theatres-related dispute based on if he forgot that, he could h...

Absolutely! Only once every four years...most of the time. I believe 2100 is the next leap year "skipped" to keep things on track with the Gregorian calendar.

I know there are lots of big Wicked fans, so a poor movie version would be way worse than none at all. I hope it turns out better than you're thinking right now, bookworm.

Re: Wicked

I've never seen Wicked but it seems to be one of those famous things. I like musicals in general, so if I heard this was good I might see it. Sometimes a theatre to film transition can be tough.

Re: Super Bowl LVIII halftime show

I watched part of it. Not quite my genre. I went and did my dishes and when I came back to the living room, it was almost over. It seemed very long. However, I did see a comment online from someone who thought it was great (Milt Stegall, CFL legend and commentator) so there's that. ;)

Re: Lunar New Year

I keep buying boxes of naval oranges advertising the year of the dragon (not sure what the connection is there) Not connected to this year specifically, but oranges and tangerines are a big part of Chinese New Year festivities in general. Okay, that makes sense. It seemed like a random place to me,...
