Re: Church Splits
It's infuriating when people (Christian people, I might add) start wars over the smallest things. Those people need to sit back with a beer (or lemonade if you don't drink), chill out, and just talk about God's grace. I don't know why people need to act so idiotic. Kait, I'm really sorry that happe...

It is not so much that Christianity is hated, as it is that Christ is hated. The world,--jew and gentile--have said: "We will not have this man to reign over us." Jesus Christ is the rightful king, and those who are truly loyal to him have been guaranteed by Him that they will indeed suffe...

Re: Can unsaved people get into Heaven?
Okay, so there has been a recent topic on whether or not “Sinners will go to heck.” Now, I will admit that I didn’t read every post in the conversation, but it seems to me that most of the comments were about what heck is, what constitutes sin, and if everyone who sins is considered a sinner. Howev...

Re: Aliens
I believe that there are other planets out there that are inhabited by other creatures. I think that the earth is the only one that has fallen and that the other ones are still perfect. I know it sounds wierd, but it is what I believe from studying the Bible and reading what theologists say on the ...

Don't let your spiritual quest ever be about gaining "it", but about seeking HIM. Isn't that the basis of Enoch's standing with God--for whom he was seeking? Doesn't that seem to be the idea put forth in the few verses concerning Enoch in Hebrews 11?

I never really thought about one as my favourite. They are like a barbershop quartet. In order to fully appreciate the song that they sing, you have to listen to them together.

Re: The Church
I do indeed believe that the Church as a whole, not just the Priest and the Bishops, has the prerogative to decide which teaching and creeds are on equal footing with the Bible; for example the Nicene Creed. Now I agree that being a pastor is a gift but are you saying it's not an office too? So you...

Re: The Church
That's one way to try to justify the tradition you have embraced, but it doesn't really give a direct answer to my questions. My church have pastors, but that is irrelevant because pastoring(as true to the wording of Scripture) is a gift, not an office. As to commentaries--those with the gift of tea...

Re: The Church
Are the Apostles somehow on a higher strata than the rest of the church? Would they have liberty to change little things about the Bible later on? Or could it be that the teachings in the Bible were teachings that they delivered to us simply because they first received them? Could it be that there w...

Re: The Church
The Old Testament, then the Church, then the New Testament. The Old Testament was only understood in the context of Christ through the Church and the New Testament was written to the Church for the Church. Couldn't it be more correct to say that the Old Testament was understood in the context of Ch...

Re: The Church
No, I wouldn't have done that at all-- because I believe you are intelligent enough to make that connection on your own. But what I am concerned for you about is the fact that you do look to the church and the "Holy Fathers" and interpret the Scripture in that context. I want to suggest to...
