I really enjoy his books. They're very capturing. I especially liked his allegories in Black, Red and White.

I have watched all three extended versions and enjoyed the extra scenes immensely.

I don't know about favorite scenes but the one of Sam and Smeagol and "po-ta-toes!" always makes me laugh.
