Re: Who's on Goodreads?
I won two giveaways, I think. After the second book I stopped entering because I didn't want to continue committing to reading and reviewing books.

Yes, my position is yes, emphatically. I like creepy babies.bookworm wrote:Your position on the debate topic is yes then? Because if we don't hold this celebration then random statements like that one don't have a place to be vetted?

Re: Bookworm And Kings Daughter Beat-Down Fight Day 2019
Trying to put the 'beat down' (and drag out) back into things, eh? ;) No, I was reacting to someone who burst into the room and immediately started shouting something bizarre. I think I understand now though; you were meaning to introduce that as a debate topic? If so security releases you. But I r...

Re: 10 Things about You
1. Both my wife and I are currently self-employed. 2. I'm building a todo list app that charges people when they don't complete their tasks on time (There's quite a few people who are into these kind of extreme productivity tools, myself included!). 3. My wife and I are vegetarians. 4. I enjoy using...

Re: Crossword puzzles
Yup, we follow all the other rules (keeping score, challenge rules, etc). We just aren't constrained by the edges of a board (and bonus tiles aren't a thing that way, of course).

My wife and I have discovered that we both like Scrabble a whole lot more if we don't use the board.

Re: The Problems
Do bugs count? I was thinking about this thread yesterday while a slow-but-faster-than-me fly drove me crazy! I just barely missed it a dozen times over a few hours, waiting for it to land long enough and in a solid enough place that I could kill it. There has to be a better way. I know there are a...

It's really cool that they're actively soliciting listener feedback. Have they done a survey like this in the past?

Re: What books are you reading?
Currently reading The Media Lab by Stewart Brand. Super old book, published in the late '80's, but I'm really enjoying it. Loads of incredibly smart people waxing eloquent about the potential of technologies that are now either common place or antiquated. It's nostalgic in a delightfully hopeful way.

This is a really interesting project. I tend to listen to a lot of the same, and rarely listen to an entire album as a whole. I'm super tempted to try this approach to listening...

The fire alarms in our house are extremely sensitive and temporarily-lose-your-hearing loud. Making toast feels like playing Russian Roulette.
