Re: The Ties that Bind

I think you all have interesting points about whether The Ties That Bind was too vague or not and what children can handle. Maybe what it shows is that there are many kinds of families that listen to AIO--some which approach tough topics at earlier ages with more detail, and others which chose to ig...

Re: The Last of the repacks

Anyone know if the repack for Back on the Air (#26) is out yet? I know that the Odyssey Scoop says August 2013 for this release, but I keep seeing the new album art on the online listings for the album everywhere (which isn't the case for the four repacks pictured in this thread).

Re: 685: The Green Ring Conspiracy, Part 7

I thought that this was probably the least interesting of the first seven parts, just because not a lot seemed to happen in it. And because of a couple of eye-rolling mushy parts. :-p

Oh, and if you're interested I've posted my thoughts on the first seven parts on my blog. :-)

Re: Big Bang Theory

Love the characters in this show (particularly Sheldon!), but I'm put off by some of the content in it. It's not as bad as Two and a Half Men, Chuck Lorre's other popular sitcom, but it has its moments. I think it really depends on the episode: I've seen a few episodes where there were very little c...

Re: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

yeah, like I said, it makes sense to assume that. And can anyone answer my question of who Lucy was talking to in the last clip? Lucy is talking to a character added in to the movie, who travels with the Dawn Treader in the hopes of finding her mother. Which I'm sure the Narnia purists will hate. O...

Re: Poll: Should Whit Die/Leave the Show?

My answer is "maybe." I'm okay with the possibility of Whit leaving the show, but not dying. I don't think some kids (and me, maybe) would ever get over the shock of him dying. You only have to look at albums 20 through 27 to see how strong AIO was when Whit wasn't in the show, so I think ...

Re: Poll: Should Eugene and Katrina have kids?

I don't Whit can die. There have been too many occasions when he should've died but didn't. It's like he's the main character of the series or something... ;)

Re: Poll: Should Eugene and Katrina have kids?

Yes, Eugene and Katrina should have children. Anytime after album 53's fine with me, although I won't complain if it happens sooner. How well that works really depends on the writing, but the characters need to keep growing and experiencing changes--that's when we care about them the most, usually. ...

Re: 669: Wooton's Broken Pencil Show

As corny as it was, I also managed to laugh at the end when Wooton mentions that he has never heard Jess Harnell. This is actually different in another version (album version?) of the show that I heard. In that one as Wooton goes through the cast list he says, "Andre Stojka as Whit, Jess...

Re: 669: Wooton's Broken Pencil Show

I don't think there's ever been an AIO episode quite like "Wooton's Broken Pencil Show." First of all, the whole thing is a radio broadcast of a talk show. It's true that we've heard many programs on Kids' Radio before, but never 25-minutes of spontaneity. Usually what we hear from Kids' R...

Re: Loads More Info for Jonathan Park: The Voyage Beyond!

Any fictional story where characters go off into space and might not make it back to earth always has me rolling my eyes. Underwater adventures I can handle, but a homeschool family blasting off into space? That's really a stretch. :noway:

I was hoping that these might be along the lines of the Choose Your Own Adventure books (because with the IS everyone's experience is different, right?), but I guess not. They should be fun to read, if nothing else. :)

Re: Preorder Album 53...

Why would this pre-order link be fake? CBD often puts up products months in advance. But I wouldn't pre-order now, anyway, because they'll probably put down the price by a few dollars before it comes out. Also available for pre-ordering at CBD is the new AIO book series by Paul McCusker and Marianne...
