Movies EVERYONE should see!

Post by The Top Crusader »

What are some movies you think basically everyone should see at least once sometime in their life?

For now I'll go with, in no particular order:

Spider-man 1 & 2

Walk the Line

X-men 1 & 2

The Patriot

Star Wars 4-6

Passion of the Christ

Back to the Future 1, 2, & 3

I'm sure there are more I'll come up with later...

So agree, disagree, and add your own! \:D/

Newsies

Singing in the Rain

Extreme Days

Though I don't believe there are really movies that anyone has to see. I've heard many times that Lion King, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, etc. are movies that you must watch at least once in your life time. After watching Sleeping Beauty, I'd have to disagree.

Schindler's List

LOTR Trilogy

And many of the things on Brian's list. Also, it should be required that everyone see Tommy Boy and Black Sheep, in order to understand the true awesomeness that was Chris Farley.

EDIT: How could I forget The Princess Bride? A classic!

I would have to disagree with this topic. I don't think there are any movies that everyone has to have seen.

Don't get me wrong, I love watching movies, and I'd agree that a lot of the movies that were mentioned are awesome, and I'd totally reccomend watching them. But, there are so many different tastes in movies, and so many different opinions about what makes a good movie, that while a certain movie may be one person's favorite, the next person might be able to tell that they'll hate it by just looking at the cover.

Sorry, I don't know why I just said all of this... You may now continue with your lists.

I don't think this topic is forcing everyone to go out and watch the above listed movies. :) It's just a list of movies that particular people think everyone should see... Or people think are their favorite movies of all time. Just a recommendation, not a forceful nudge. ;) People have to use their own discernment if they desire to actually take people's advice about seeing the the movies, though. :)

I'm sorry for trying to force people to see movies they may not like, as was clearly my intent with this thread. :mecry:

*finally sees Top for the evil creature that he is* :bolt:

I know what EC means - I adore The Princess Bride, for example, but I know somebody who doesn't like it because she just doesn't appreciate the style of humour. I find it hilarious; she doesn't. For that reason, there are few movies that almost everyone would enjoy. But this title is cooler than "Movie Recomendations," and therefore Top's thread is highly cool anyway. ;)

I agree with The Chronicles of Narnia, Samwise. I also strongly recommend Ice Age.

I agree! Pride and Prejudice is a movie all should see, especially girls. The 6-hour version is much more detailed, but the 2-hour version is much better in acting. Would you agree darling, Barely is?
