ODYSSEY IDOL 2!
At long last (well, okay... it hasn't been THAT long yet), Iron Crusader is kicking off its myriad of astoundingly groovetastic contests with the launch of... Odyssey Idol 2!
Some of you may recall the excitement of the original Odyssey Idol, but that has been nearly three years ago and there are a lot of new faces on the Town of Odyssey... so its high time this contest returns!
That's great, Top! It sounds spectacular! So what do we do!?
Well, I'm glad you asked, Mr. Bold-Typed Font!
You're deadline... March 1st, 2009! What you do is... record yourself singing! There are numerous online kareoke sites that will let you do that, or you can probably find accompaniment tracks online or something... or sing musicless! Now, we understand that only having some cheap microphone on your computer isn't going to produce the highest quality... but we will be kind about that--although I know there are some talented people here that probably have professional recordings they can send in...
But anyway, from last time we had some good success with http://www.ksolo.com as far as an online kareoke site. Ewww, I see Myspace has taken over it since last we used it. Well hopefully it will still serve our demands! Coupled with http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ for recording purposes. Of course if you know of something better... feel free to use it, and clue us in as to what it is so other people can use it, too.
Right... so... send this where again?
To me... either upload them (you can do that where ever you desire, but if you have no clue, http://www.yousendit.com/ is a good place to start), and PM me the link, or email the file to: thetopcrusader@hotmail.com --if you email them to me, I highly recommend sending me a PM here on the board and telling me what to look for, to make sure it doesn't get deleted in my junk mail folder along with the countless herbal enhancement ads I get every day.
But, wait... I'm not that popular here... everyone loves that poster Bob, and if he enters, he will win out of favoritism!
Good point. So basically, send all the stuff to me, and only me... don't reveal what you are performing or anything. I will then post things without your name attached, so voting will be done fairly.
So... I only enter one song?
Yeah...... I think that will be simpler for everyone!
Okay... well... sounds interesting. What's in it for ME?!
You greedy Bold-Typed Font.
First place... $5,000 plus a plushie doll thing to commemorate your win on Odyssey Idol!
Second place... $2,500
Third place... $1,000
Not too shabby, eh?
Okay, so, what about an entry fee for us?
I'm a nice guy. No entry fee. The ToO government lacks to toss out money just like the United States government!
Is that all?
Well... for now. I'll append more later if necessary. So any questions of whatever, ask away.
Happy singing!
NOOOO!! Don't leave us yet, Top! Give us a little something extra!
Okay, how about last Odyssey Idol's entries?!
Hurt -- Last Odyssey Idol's first place winner!
Shenendoah -- Tie for 2nd place last time!
C is for Cookie -- the other 2nd place last time!

Can we use whatever language we want?
"Sonuna" Taranimak ("Sonuna" Sharkquill) has been content lately. She admired own very fine Bed recently. She talked with a parent recently. She talked with a friend recently. She had a good meal recently. She admired a fine tastefully-arranged Desk recently.
She is a citizen of The United States of America. She is a member of The State of Minnesota. She is a member of The Town of Odyssey.
"Sonuna" Taranimak likes Bauxite, Copper, Green jade, the color navy, cloaks, ballistas, cats for their aloofness and hydras for their seven heads. When possible, she prefers to consume Dr Pepper and ramen.
She lives at a relaxed pace. She tends to avoid crowds. She has a fertile imagination. She is completely disorganized. She is very distant and reserved. She tends not to openly express emotions. She needs caffeine to get through the working day.

I'M OUTRAGED THAT WE ARE HAVING THIS PAGAN CONTEST!@!!!!!!11!12!43!!
Everyone knows that we shouldn't have idols. I therefore declare this "contest" to be heathen and unchristian, and order you to delete it now!!
(hahahaha. Anyone who took that seriously should just leave, right now. )
Looks cool, can't wait to hear the songs. (am I the only one who doesn't remember the first one?

Yay! This was fun last time!
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. ♡

Do I have to sing, or can I just play my guitar? And if so, I reiterate the question about editing.

When I did Seasonal Felicitations, I edited together multiple takes to make it sound good, as well as adjusting the volumes of the voice and the music. That, at least, would seem like a reasonable thing to do. Top can give the final word on more elaborate editing, though.
Also, if anyone wants help with how to record yourself well and prepare the recording for submission, let me know.

Haha, I like the graphic too.
I remember Odyssey Idol! I believe it was in-progress when I joined, and I enjoyed listening to the entries. Should be fun! To enter or not to enter. That is the question.
I also remember the Butcher That Song contest that I sent in an entry for.
