Your Life's Movie Soundtrack

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Your Life's Movie Soundtrack

Post by EK »

I randomly found this on a Myspace bulletin and though it was pretty sweet.
YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE?
So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool...
Opening Credits:
It's Amatuer Night at The Apollo Creed! - Cobra Starship

Waking Up:
Parting of the Sensory- Modest Mouse

First Day of School:
More Than Fine- Switchfoot

Opening Credits:
Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori - Orbit of Glass
Not long, but I can imagine it as an opening theme...

Waking Up:
FFXII Soundtrack - Sorrow (Liberation Army Version)
Also works. No real comments.

First Day of School:
FFXII Soundtrack - The Phon Coast
That's, er, an epic heroic school you has thar. I has thar. Fictional!Self has thar.

Falling in Love:
Utada Hikaru - Hikari (PlanitB Remix)
Given lyrics, I suppose this could work. Fictional!Self is obviously superior enough to fall in love to odd trance-J-pop-techno, at least.

Fight Song:
Motoi Sakuraba - Imbalance
Winamp, aren't you going to give me any songs to comment on snarkily? Why do you insist on giving me stuff that sort of works?

Breaking Up:
Ryuichi Takada - Nothing to Lose
Evidently, I break up with epic swordfights. Or the fall-out is triggered by a loss at Soul Calibur II.

Prom:
FFXII Soundtrack - Boss Battle
... Er. ... So! The prom is invaded by aliens! And then, um, someone saves... us all...? Don't ask me, I have never been to one of these mortal party occasions.

Life:
Kajiura Yuki - 1&0 City
Oh, so we're back into the land of songs for which I have no snarky commentary.

Mental Breakdown:
Trevor Rabin - [04] Library of Congress
I have awfully calm and soothing mental breakdowns. Which are also UNEXPECTEDLY LITERARY. Apparently.

Driving:
Koji Kondo - Boss: Stallord
I drive a giant razor gear top thing. Which can run along walls.

Flashback:
Kajiura Yuki - Humiliation
Also works a bit.

Getting Back Together:
Junichi Nakatsuru - Confrontation
Evidently, I also re-meet the hypothetical love interest who is pretty much totally an artifact of adaptation decay via swordfight and/or SCII. Fictional!Self's love life is a very strange thing.

Wedding:
Nobuo Uematsu - Blackjack
Hmm. Sort of fits, considering that by now Adaptation Decay Love Interest and Fictional!Self are both the sort of people who would have game music played at their wedding, evidently.

Birth of a Child:
Kenji Ito - Le Village Desert
Er, hm. ... This song is catchy. Must shuffle before it takes over my brain.

Final Battle:
Ryuichi Takada - World Distortion
My movie just... really wants me to play more Soul Calibur, it seems. What manner of evil plot is this.

Death Scene:
Kajiura Yuki - I Talk To The Rain
Works. ... ... ... no! not fictional!self! and possibly not ADLI either! DO NOT WANT

Funeral Song:
Norihiko Hibino - Eva's Reminiscence
So now we're just kind of oscillating wildly between 'working' and 'not working' for hypothetical scenes.

End Credits:
Metamorphosis - Godot's Theme
I need a mood-neckbrace. That was a bit much, even for me. On the other hand, this would make a fairly good credits song. And it is relaxing. I will now zone out and listen to it for five more minutes.

I may or may not watch this movie. It seems winding and strange. But it would provide large amounts of opportunity for adaptation decay comments. Also ADLI seems like an... interesting person. o_O

Opening Credits:
Kajiura Yuki - guests B
rather epic. actually, if you think about it, it would be a great beginning.

Waking Up:
Coldplay - x&y
you'd think there's something more spiritually upbuilding than this but hey.

First Day of School:
Yu Miyake, Masuyaki Tanaka - Katamari Damacy
XDXD. I am doomed to fall over in the cafeteria and begin to pick up objects as I roll...

Falling in Love:
John Powell - Bourne Gets Well
... no comment. ;p

Fight Song:
Kajiura Yuki - melody-"salva nos" ver.
this isn't a very ... er... fight-type song. unless it's romantically linked fight... in which case, actually, might work out alright. if sporks are involved.

Breaking Up:
John Powell - Goa
... so, I go to India. not much chance of me grieving, is there?

Prom:
John Powell - BONUS TRACK - Assassin Car Chase
hahahahahahahaha... yeah. basically, that's the most likely thing to happen, next to my arrival at some form of prom.

Life:
Artur Rubinstein - I-Nocturne N1- Si Menor
piano music. this is doomed to be one of those ironic scenes where people stand in an elevator calmly while people dash about outside.

Mental Breakdown:
Utada Hikaru - Dareka no Negai ga Kanau Koro
strangely ... ... soothing? but beautiful.

Driving:
John Powell - Jason is Reborn
I drive on the right side of the road.

Flashback:
Kajiura Yuki - Fake Garden
to a garden scene, wherein I throw plates! or something.

Getting Back Together:
Kajiura Yuki - A Farewell Song
... farewell to whom? TO ARMS!

Wedding:
John Powell - On Bridge Number 9
well.
that's odd.

Birth of a Child:
Taku Iwasaki - Audiotrack 12
epic and heroic. yet I see nothing particularly epic ... and very showy about... birth.

Final Battle:
Kajiura Yuki - Corsican Corridor
We get to go to an ancient island and drive around in hallways. ^^

Death Scene:
YUI for Amane Kaoru - It's Happy Line
/me would be tempted to dance at my death scene. =P

Funeral Song:
Kajiura Yuki - Salva Nos
fight OVER SARAI'S BODYYYYYY

End Credits:
Kajiura Yuki - Kirei na Kanjou
awww. noir.

conclusion: fictional!sarai will end up marrying jason bourne, and he will have a relapse into amnesia, after which they get married. their wedding is interrupted by those who do not approve of the bourne involvement with a blackgaard. there will be a child born, and such, after which sarai fights off ancient cars with a frisbee. death scene occurs onstage at a j-pop concert (you know, there are laws against such), and the funeral also is a tear-jerker.
they may be copper,
annoying little coins! but,
they might be giants.

I decided to try my hand at it again.

Opening Credits:
Gone (Spanish Version) - N'Sync

Okay...erm apparently this movie is one of those new style "do it in another language" type movies. Or something.

Waking Up:
Wake Me Up When September Ends- Green Day

I'm particularly luck with these type of things...but apparently this movie starts in October ;) (I assure you I didn't make it pick this.)

First Day of School:
She Will Be Loved- Maroon 5

First day of school unrequited but long realized love! :3 Wait...school starts in October?

Falling in Love:
If it ain't me babe- Johnny Cash

...this is rather rhetorical- meaning I won't fall in love in this movie...I don't think. :( (NAW NAW NAW)

Fight Song:
Lay Down My Pride- Jeremy Camp

So apparently when I lay down my pride and see it God's way. I get into a fight...ok.

Breaking Up:
Bittersweet Poetry- Kanye West

This makes sense- but it's the song Kanye did with Chris Martin so I'm programmed not to like it. >:l

Prom:
Crank Dat Soulja Boy- Soulja Boy

Hah- now THAT's a prom.

Life:
Come right out and say it- Relient K

Ah-hah. My life is very vocal I suppose... ;)

Mental Breakdown:
Rebirthing- Skillet

Well he seems kind of breakdown-ish at the beggining of the song.

Driving:
Smack That (ft. Eminem)- Akon

No...comment.

Flashback:
Dashboard- Modest Mouse

Hey- this rather makes sense, the whole song is flashbackish type sequence.

Getting Back Together:
Whatshername- Green Day

Apparently I forgot her name while we were apart. >:l

Wedding:
Maybe This Time- Ok Go

...Maybe this time we'll get married. \:D/

Birth of a Child:
So Help Me God- DC Talk

IM HAVING A BABY HERE! >:l

Final Battle:
Camisado- Panic! At the Disco

Fight Club Tribute! (For a fight song that's pretty schweet)

Death Scene:
Honey, this mirror isn't big enough for the both of us- My Chemical Romance

Apparantly not- so kick me out and I die. :(

Funeral Song:
My Friend- DC Talk

So long. :(

End Credits:

Well...LET THE MOVIE GO!

Thanks! A lot of those songs I hardly ever listen to (namely, the ones that aren't done by Christian Artists). I noticed you had a lot of the same music tastes as I do! I LOVE Casting Crowns!!!!!! \:D/
