Narnia Extended Version
Narnia Extended Version
Yep, for all you fans of EE's, Narnia's is coming out on the 12th, with four discs.
For the first time, I'm actually tempted to get it.

I would like to have this, but I already bought the two-disc edition when it first came out, and I really can't justify this right now. I wish that I could, but it's a lot to spend on something that I already own half of. If I hear some super good things about it from you guys who are getting it, then I may be tempted to reconsider, however.

You took the words out of my mouth.Dasher wrote:I'm REALLY upset that the second disc is exactly the same as the second one in the two disc edition (which I already own), but regardless, I have my pre-order in. Should be interesting.
If anyone wants to be spoiled screen caps and descriptions of all the new scenes are available on Narnia Web.

Boy what a dilemma
I don't know. I definitely want the 4 disc... maybe I'll sell or give away my 2 disc copy
I'll probably end up buying the 4 disc regardless when Prince Caspian comes out

Well the 2-disk set is already a handsome package. If you look at what's in the 4disk one, I don't see a ton of reason to upgrade.
Disk 1: About 8 minutes of exra footage. Apparently its mostly just some inconsequential shots and lines of dialoge, except for some cool stuff during the battle scene. It doesn't sound like there's really not enough extra footage worth buying a whole different movie (unlike LOTR where sometimes one extra scene is 8 minutes long in of itself)
Disk 2: same extras as in the 2-disk set
Disk 3: a doc on C.S. Lewis. Apparently its decent, if one's interested.
Disk 4: There's a big full-length making-of feature on here. I've heard there's a fair amount of over-lap between it and the stuff on disk 2, though.
Now if you've been holding off buying any version of Narnia until now, then go for it, but otherwise, its probably best to hold on to your original disk.
For a good review and run-down of the set (and where I got most of my info) look it up at www.dvdtalk.com

Yeah, I'm not a big fan so I don't overall care... but I'd think people could just wait until the price goes down on the 4 disc if they want it bad enough to get it... that's what I've done numerous times on special edition stuff... doesn't seem like such a waste.

It'll be on ebay and Amazon for forever, though...
