3 or 4/5. A good episode, in my opinion, although it felt a bit rushed towards the end...

I liked it! 5/5 it was a tiny bit rushed at the end, but unlike the last ep, the lesson was clear pretty much through out it all. I'm so glad Trent is back! He's so cool! Anyways, and it's always good to hear from Wooton too--he's hilarious. So, pretty much, it was great, ya.

Make sure you listen after Chris talks. There's a little more to the episode.

I give Blood, Sweat, and Fears a 4 for my first greater than 3 rating of the fall season!
We get some progression with Hand-Up—good.
We learn several fun factoids!
-Eugene weighs less than 117 pounds.
-Whit’s fear of blood stems from a war incident where he was injured, passed out, and a nurse mistakenly drew his blood.
The episode setup was traditional with two separate storylines converging. I really liked the climax where all three were dealing with their fears at once. I also liked how they faced their fears but weren’t perfect; Trent stumbled on a few words, and Eugene fainted (but was invigorated first, haha). They didn’t have it all together, but they overcame and were victorious.
And talking about the fears made Whit and Eugene more human. From Called on in Class, we already knew of Trent’s fear—good continuity. It was also nice to have Connie as the stronger, non-frazzled character. I wouldn’t have had Connie laugh in Eugene’s face, though; that was the only thing that really struck me negatively.
Wooton: I’m not a Wooton fan (I’m not anti-Wooton either as I once was), but I think his use in this episode was fine. It was cool how Eugene acknowledged the complexity of Wooton’s mind.
The absence of Katrina: It seems that Eugene’s wife should be around more than just a phone call away, but then again, the episode stands alone fine. I’ve gotten used to and don’t have a problem with Audrey Wasilewski’s voice.
The wrap-up: Yay for the mini-scene at the end that forces people to listen to Chris! I remember people noticing and liking this feature in Sunday Morning Scramble. Hey, I mentioned the fish in Bart’s mouth last week!
Again, 4 stars. Very good traditional show. Apt and allusive title as well. I've already listened to it 3-4 times.

4 stars!
I really enjoyed it all-in-all
I liked how they didn't actually force Audrey as Katrina into the show
I liked Trent's role
A little unsure about Whit being afraid but I think his reason was good
Wooton as funny as ever
I absolutely loved hearing Wooton sing!
Good moral

4 stars!
I thought Trent overcame his public speaking fears in "Called on in Class," but *shrugs* apparently he's still working on it. It was great hearing from him again, though.
Wooton was hilarious, as usual. I liked his singing. And I'm still wondering why ducks' quacks don't echo...
Eugene and Connie's acting was great, but Whit's acting seemed a little...flat...I dunno...
All in all, a nice little ep.

Just so y'all know, I wrote this before I read anyone else's review.
You know those comic strips like For Better or For Worse or Luann that follow storylines during the week, but on Sundays provide a random humorous bit that’s completely unrelated to that arc? That’s what today’s episode reminded me of.
We’re all on the edge of our seats, waiting to see what happens with Eugene and his father...which is why it seemed strange to hear Eugene dealing with not only keeping his father away from public exposure, but getting reacquainted with him, and then the next episode, it’s a typical day with Whit, Connie, and Hand-Up work.
The slice-of-life episodes lately are more about humor than actually mirroring life (which was even clearer in last week's episode), but since when has Connie read books about pigs in her spare time in order to best Wooten at barnyard trivia?
I thought Eugene's fear of needles and Trent's fear of interviewing were funny (especially Eugene on the phone with Katrina, and Trent's attempts at interviewing), but maybe a little overdone. It's message was clearly portrayed, and it had its funny parts, but it could've been stronger.
Three stars.

I liked this one. Mainly because of Wooton however. I loved the barnyard animal trivia, it added some needed humor too the show. 4/5

I'll admit it, I wasn't that interested in Trent's story part of it (btw, I think I know how he and Mandy become friends, or get involved with each other, or whatever). But his part of it was saved by his and Whit's convo about 2/3 of the way in. I loved it that Whit offered guidance, and used scripture, and had a heart to heart with a kid. Seriously, it doesn't happen often enough, and it was refreshing to hear. Very refreshing.
Connie's and Eugene's bantering was funny. As was the line "Understanding his mind would present a challenge to Einstien"
So yeah, I liked it. Strongest slice-of-ep in quite a while.
edit- Kathy wrote this one? Man, she's getting better and better.

I loved Wooton's song! It made me laugh. I enjoyed this episode. Although I agree with LizzieG that it was rather odd that we heard from Eugene without any reference to his father. It was also strange again that Katrina wasn't really involved in this episode at all. Where was she when her husband was going through such a trying ordeal? Shouldn't she have been there to hold his hand? Or, at least to donate blood as well? The barnyad trivia was fun. Wooton is such a complex character, and we're constantly learning more about him, which is one of the reasons he is one of my favorite characters. I got a kick out of pretty much all of his lines. Connie was used in a rather interesting manner in this show. It's not often that she's the only one who has it all together... Interesting twist. 4/5 stars

Wooten: It's the Treeennnnt shooowwww!
I loved all Wootens lines. He just amazes me with his outstanding knowledge. It's nice to see Eugene so nervous and Connie so in control!
Trent was so funny in this show too. In fact everyone was! I loved Eugene fainting and then coming to just to answer the chicken question.

Wow...an excellent scene with Whit giving advice, a squabble between Connie and Eugene, a return of Trent, a (very brief) bit of history on Whit in the war, a great use of Wooten...this was a good episode!
I could go into detail on why I enjoyed the bits I mentioned above, but there's really no reason to. I had forgotten how much I missed Whit/Connie/Eugene episodes like this one.
However, at times it felt like the writers were putting things in (like Whit's advice) just to please us loyal fans, but at the same time it's impossible to not like the the advice or the deeper glimpses into the characters.
To a certain degree I can relate with Trent in this episode (or at least when I was his age), and the bit about Whit's fear was a nice addition. I also liked how interconnected the two storylines were, yet they both held their own weight very well.
A very solid episode! This one gets my first 5 rating of the season!
