Who agrees with me that it is time for another huge plot? (ALA Blackgaard/Novacom) Because, look at it this way.
Number of years between the end of Blackgaard and the beginning of Novacom: 5
Number of years between the end of Novacom to this year: 5
Coincidence? I think not! \:D/

It's time? It's time? Did (s)he just say it's time?

We didn't have a lot of fun in the desert!
We didn't have a lot of fun in the sand!
But saddle up your cow, it's all behind us now!
'Cause we're goin' to the promised land!

P.S :offtopic: alert!

P.P.S The writers should bring The Chairman back if they're going to do another plotline. And maybe they can make Xavier a key character. That would be su-WHEET! \:D/

I love the two sagas and would love for the Chairman/Novacom story to start up again. I have been waiting eagerly ever since Novacom's saga wrapped up (and yes, I have also made the 5-year connection). Although, remember: there were 6 years between Blackgaards first and second major visits to Odyssey. Also, we're currently in the middle of a major storyline (Eugene's father) which will wrap up this next season. It would seem like too much to start up a major story arc right after finishing another one.

So, yes, if it were up to me, I would definitely say it is time for a huge new plot! However, I don't think AIO's currently in a place that's ready for it. At least, not this season. Anyway, that's just my 2 cents.

*Answers the ringing phone*

Rachael, your husband's on the phone. Should I tell him to call you back later?

We just had a huge plot and saga. The team needs to give it about 5-6 more years of creating episodes before they take something like that on again. After all, Eugene just barely made it back to Odyssey, and he DID have amnesia, might I add...? That's already pushing it with plotlines because amnesia is usually a lame excuse for a way to bring something to a close when the writers are out of ideas.

Not only that, we've also seen some small mini-plots since the Novacom Saga. We already had a return of Bennett Charles for his little revenge. Nah, I'd say AIO needs to wait till fans pretty much forget about the whole Novacom stuff. Odyssey should wait till it's back to normal -- more normal than normal -- then they can move onto bigger and better plots.

After all... there has been a LOT of action/adventure episodes on the show, more than the usual allotment. If they overdo it, it will most certainly become old. I think it's time for AIO to stop creating surface/shallow child characters and start dealing with the more emotional/important topics. It seems like the kids they have now are only there to throw in a comical punchline.

I don't want punchlines! I want real!

Yes! The "sagas" bring out the best in the writers and we learn so much about our favourite characters. Plus, what a great way to pass the day when going on a long trip in the car.

You guys are really bad! I'm tempted to move this thread to HH or GF... ;)

I think that it's too early for another big saga. We just had the whole Eugene thing, and now we're in the middle of the Eugene's father thing, so I think we have enough excitement for now. Wait another couple of seasons, and we'll be ready for something amazing to happen, but for now we just need some low-key, slice-of-life episodes.

Come to think of it, a lot of major events happened right before the DBD series started: Whit leaving, Jason's arrival, Tom running for Mayor, the truth about the tunnel under Whit's End, Katrina leaving, etc. Maybe this is the right time for another saga. Perhaps all the major events happening in Odyssey at the moment are just a set up for another huge plot. After all, it would be very interesting to have the storylines of Eugene's father, Mandy's parents, and Connie's book furthered in the context of a larger saga. Hmm...I might change my vote (verbally, at least).

Novacom was good because it was totatly unexpected (at least for me anyway.) We didn't see it coming.
Now big contrived dramas are the norm in AIO (we're still in Eugene saga after-all).

-John Kerry (lol....actually one thing he said that is true, whether he believes it or not!)

On the topic, YES!!! I need something exciting in my life.
