Which Hobbit?

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

All of them. But if I had to chose I would pick Pippin, since I adore Scottish accents. :)

It's a tie between Merry and Sam. Merry, is, IMHO, the smartest of the hobbits. Sam is quite possibly the most loyal character in literature. \:D/

I say Frodo!
Who do I belong To? Not Earth, Not world, Not Evil, Not mortals, Not wretches, Not horrors

Who do I belong to? Unchanging. Unbreaking. Unfailing. Creator. Immortal. Eternal

Surrender to the sound.

If we're talking about the movie, Pippin. He's hilarious. Merry is cute, but I never thought that until I saw him in Lost, so I don't think that counts. Sam's great. I didn't really like Frodo as much. It seems like during 2/3 of the movies, he's doing nothing but making overly agonized faces and groaning in a really weird way.

Frodo really freaks me out with his eyes and just the way he acts throughout the movie.

Pippin. Loyal and fun.
Just smell those burning leaves, the warm baked bread, and the hot apple cider. Ahhh.

Just to let you know, I try to base my opinion on the books rather than the movies because the movies distort their characters, but...definitely Sam. Always has been my favorite mainly for his loyalty and also because he's "more than meets the eye" in a way. I have to admit though, after recently re-reading through the series, I like Sam a little less than I used and Frodo a little more after picking up on a few details I either didn't notice or didn't fully comprehend. Frodo used to about tie with Merry for second, but now I believe Frodo's firmly established as my second favorite. Doesn't change the fact that Sam's still my favorite though. ;) I also decided I like Pippin a little more than I used to, even though he still doesn't surpass Merry. To be honest though, I like all the hobbits in their own way.

I like Merry, too. Pippin and Merry are quite the mischief makers when they get together. :)

I love Merry as well...I think the problem is that he simply isn't anyone's favorite....not necessarily that he's everyone's least favorite. ;)
